Shelving & closets

We just moved house and have zero closet space, I am contemplating putting up some of those chrome rods in the alcoves in 2 of the bedrooms, Does any one have any better ideas, am thinking of putting up shelving in the alcove in the sitting room, anybody got any suggestions for something that would look nice?

don't buy the chrome poles or the brackets in woodies or homebase. brackets are ten euro a pair :eek: in both places. can be got in most small hardware shops for about 3 euro. get some floating shelves for the alcoves in the living room.
