[Eve] Expansion download?

    I'm fairly new to Eve. With Wow I could download patch data in advance of patch day. Is that possible with Eve? If not how do they distribute the expansion? Do I have to wait til I get home that evening before even kicking off the download?

    yeah you'll have to wait until the server comes back up from its 20 hour downtime on the 1'st december before you can dl the patch

    Yeah they deploy the patch on the servers first, your client will update when you first try to connect once the server is patched.

    Sometimes they release the patch a few hours before the servers come up properly but the first day is still usually a day of crashes and ****e. :D

    I had messages from "incompatible" to "do you want to download patch". still haven't started downloading even after clicking "yes". I'll just have to let it settle a bit by the looks of things.

    Maccer, off out tonight so might get a run tomorrow evening if you're about ;)

    I just connected and it says Status (Incompatible) but no option to download anthing. I'm out tonight myself but tomorrow sounds good.

    Yep there it is - getting 650KB/s - better than the Wow update client :D

    Aww ****ing too right!
    Jesus 2kb/s was considered good going on the wow updater
