Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah cr@p... I have to use the bike tomorrow myself... And the car has started acting up this evening on the way home (something to do with the catalytic converter) so I'm not looking forward to it AT ALL! :(

had fun last time it snowed and I got caught out in it. drifting and wobbling my way along tyre tracks of buses and trucks. was fun but scary at the same time. turning corners and stopping at lights was interesting. Think I'll have to be caught dopey again though, wont be intentionally heading out if it's already snowing.

Looking like a bad one this morning I have to ride down to Dublin, sitting here want on the sun to raise, but its looking like I won't make my ten o'clock client, if I'm luckly I'll make my 11 o'clock. Just checked the temp out it 0 so it may thaw out up here after 8 when the sun rises. I hope in anyway

First morning leaving the bike at home this winter. could harly walk out of the estate today nevermind chance the bike. pity, the main roads looked ok but the smaller roads were all completly frozen over.

Haven't missed a day this year so far due to bad weather - don't plan on starting :pac:

The estate and small roads are lethal, grand once you get on the main roads though.

Just having my last cup of coffee and I'll give it a go. It doesn't generally bother me when I'm in Dublin but I have an 80k journey to work today, so on days like that I take a few of the hours I save up from my overtime.

im thinking all the motorcyclists have migrated south for the winter, as i seem to be the only one on the road.

roads are in good condition considering the weather, the only things that are effecting me are cold feet and my estate is a blanket of ice, but thats fun.

didn't mind having a snooze on the bus this morning but really missed the bike on the way home. Took for ever to get home on the bus. Anything less than 4 foot of snow in the morning and I think I'll be taking the bike. I feel dirty now for leaving it at home today. :(

Went out to warm up the bike before going to work this morning, got two steps out the door and landed flat on my back :pac:

The bit of rain last night froze into a solid sheet of ice on the driveway. Then the whole way out the estate the bike was fishtailing @ 5km/h :o

I fishtailed in the Phoenix park today at about 40km's, not too bad was slowing down when it happened and she stayed up right. Took me five minutes to get from the road to my driveway yesterday as the path and "ramp" was completely iced up. Other than that no bothers so far.

It was fine coming up from Dublin to Louth this morning, though I did leave it until 11.30 to start.

However, the top of my mothers road is blocked of by bollards which I generally slip through. It was like glass on Wednesday night as no cars where driving over it. As soon as I took the corner the transalp went from under me; both me and the bike slid for about 20feet. I had to get a passerby to get me a lift up with it as I was sliding all over the place trying to lift it up.

The main thing was I was fine, and the crash bars did there job, not aaek on the bike.

It wasn't icy earlier tonight, but a slight bit of sleet and 0 degree celsius has made some places quite troublesome.

Was'nt out today on the bike but had a nice long spin down to Gorey for breky Sunday morning. Almost lost it twice in the way but it was worth it. Dont really mind the ice, long as I know its there. No sudden movements !!

Everybody was going on about the wind and rain yesterday, but I think I was the happest man in Ireland. I have a 80k commute to work and as I was working in three different clinics yesterday I had wet feey all day [I need new boots] at least it was safe to ride.
