Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Formated my pc yesterday, downloaded antivirus '10 and updated windows(vista). Today when I download from chrome it puts the pc to sleep mode(after ~15mb). Same with torrents no matter which client. If a client is open and nothing downloading its fine.
I have turned off all sleep conditions.
Anyone know wtf is going on?

Update: just tried to do a virus scan and got the same thing, feels like my hard drive is fked.

Test it for consciousness, download some "interesting" photo/video material and see if it can stay awake...

(Sry, Ive nothing serious to add... apart from slapping it and plugging it out and in)

It could be an overheating issue. I had that once before and it turned out that the thermal paste on the heatsink had burnt away. Try something like speedfan and see what readings it's getting.

I wouldnt have thought its a heating issue, they tend to give out BSOD/freezes/total shut down. Just putting it to sleep tho :s that sounds like something else...

Ive no experience with a HD semi failing tho, so I dont know what the symptoms are. If you have access to another HD to test the machine, or perhaps see if you can run scandisk and see if it gives you any insight

lol this sounds awesome. Check that you haven't got any settings set up to do it. For example in torrent clients have an option to sleep or shutdown after all downloads are done.

Check your events folder. Run process explorer and try to nab which process is causing your pc to sleep
