Not sure about the ram could I use something cheaper. I think the power supply is ok. Was thinking of the samsung above or a LG 27" Wide W2753V-PF, Full HD, does anyone have experience of these. Dump the 5870 and get a 5850. Put the extra cash in and get a I7 rig. If its for photoshop and movie editing etc.

You could alot better for your money

I agree with the above go for the 5850 and save €100. A 650w good brand psu will be fine. You could save €30 or €40 on a haf 922, the 932 is a monster of a thing.
If its only for the occasional use of photoshop i would stick with the i5.

I think the stock cooler would be fine unless your overclocking, theres loads of airflow in either HAF.

Could probably do better than the t260 as well. The new touch of colour samsung series possibly. The LG looks good, unless you really want a 16:10 monitor.

Whatever about the rest, that Graphics Card is overkill, and it's stretching your budget over. Take the advice from the two guys above and find something cheaper, save some sponds. The 5850 will handle everything out today quite well. I also believe that Dabs.ie do 5850's cheaper than Komplett, as it was mentioned in another thread a few days ago. Shop around, buy everything at its cheapest.

Also, since Ebuyer.com will deliver to Ireland for a euro or two cheaper than Komplett (£10 for orders under 5KG, which is less than €13 rip-off that Komplett charge), and maybe a day quicker in most cases, I don't see why you would limit yourself to purchasing in Ireland only. Ebuyer.com is cheaper than Komplett, and usually all other Irish online retailers.

    Think about it... ;)

thanks for that guys very helpful, have started to put the list together again,

but after reading the last post I wanted to check out ebuyer and dabs. I was surprised in the GPU price difference and want to spend more time on the monitor, still want 26' minimum but doesn't appear to be a great choice and have more research to do. I think my idea with komplett was to pick it up before Xmas and have time to enjoy building it, and if there was a problem with the monitor there was someplace i could bring it back to. thanks again for the help.

The XMS modules you have are quite good.

Honestly, I think you're on winner there, as they are higher performing modules to the bog standard ones you can get for less money. I'm using XMS2 modules (2x2GB PC26400), and they are not bad at all.

That's going to be a nice PC, and you will happily game with it. Photoshop won't need anything near what you're planning to run optimally for bog standard use.

Let us know what you're aiming for in regards to a monitor, and I'm sure you'll get more feedback. :)

If you like a UK company who charges you the irish vat rate instead of the uk one. Oh, every tried to do a RMA with overclockers ?

Its not a nice thing to do with them, oh did i also mention they filter out all bad comments on items they sell.

    Bad form that.

Never had any problems with them tho. And even with the vat rate bollocks my last build was still about 100 quid cheeper than using komplett. The DHL option with overclockers is slightly more costly than the an post option with komplett but is one to two days unlike the 5+ days with an post.
