Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right, so some people have mentioned a Christmas beers. I thought I'd start a thread to see if there is much interest.

Multiple choice poll. I've put in dates before and after Christmas. If I've left anything out then let me know.

Remember that Tom Dunne will be around between 17th December and the 2nd January, or something, if anyone cares. :D

Children, calm down. The poll is created after the thread is posted. I had to have an intensive meeting with Zaph regarding the dates. It is now there. Vote early, vote often.

Yes. I corrected myself ... it is a most handy trait, especially if you wish to avoid embarrassing grammatical errors.

In this instance I selected an erroneous date, through a slip of the fingers, and not a slip of the mind. What of it ?

When all the date swopping - venue changing - time arranging is finally sorted out let me know. Till then I'm staying away from the thread. I hate getting my hopes built up for a Beers only to have the date changes over and over again hence sending me into a decending spiral of gloom and despondency.
(Don't mean to sound depressed, it's 'The Thirst' talking) :o

I didn't realise there was such a thing as a non-boardsie anymore. I just found out today a guy in work has an account for ages and I never knew. Then he let slip that he always posts in the fitness forum and the penny dropped........

I'm a newbie also, never been to a boards beers. Am threatening to go to the AH beers next week. So they may be the one's to pop my cherry. If not, it could be the BGRH beers.

You could of course go to both, they are on a week apart by the looks of things :)

You are of course welcome to come to the BGRH beers but you will have to bring a can of condensed milk (it is tradition for newbies and I am sure will be explained when the beers thread proper goes up)

The options as I see it (and others are may well disagree) are

Go to The Longstone, where it all began

Go to The Czech Inn which had cheap beer but we outgrew it in numbers, not the case anymore

Go to The Porter House Central, has lovely beer but it pricey

Go to Karma, the last few beers have been there and gone well, I just find that the seating lends itself to people staying in the one spot all night making it hard to get around to chat to people

But then you have to mingle.

I have no problem with Karma. Make it so. :)

How about The Bleeding Horse. Never in it before and it's looks massive. Somewhere big preferably, Karma is very small and there's no dance floor/DJ set for later on that night.
