Westland Tomato Growbags reduced from 4 euro 50 cents each down to 99 cents each.

Tesco Clarehall this morning...down at the clearence section.

Gardeners delight tomato seed (and other seeds) reduced to 19c in Aldi. Worth stocking up for next year as this variety is very tasty! In my experience tomato seeds keep fine for a few years.

Pic of Westland seed/cutting compost and tomato growbags.

About 35-40 of each left on the shelves this evening.:)

Plant ties, plant labels and garden dibbers are 35 cents each.

All the stainless steel hand trowels and hand forks that were 95 cents each are now gone.....just a few stainless steel weeders left.

I've a garden back in Ireland that is overgrown and hasn't been tended to in over a year. I seen this deal and wondered if anybody here knows if it's a bargain and worth the price for what they do? Thanks.

    No, I haven't Gary.

    No, I haven't Gary.

If you read over my post history from the past few years you will clearly know I don't live in Ireland and that due to my ethnicity my name would be nowhere near close to Gary.

It makes his normal 30 per hour look extortionate.. Never buy by the hour. Get a quote for the job. Oh & check that he is qualified - in my experience 90 % aren't.

B&Q have ten percent off some of theirs in the UK, probably extends to Ireland too. Go with an old person and use their diamond card (10% off) and get it 20% cheaper than it normally sells at. I did that a anyway. :D

Just wondering has anyone seen any good offers on heathers. NOT the painted variety please. Just had a thought earlier about planting a few of them for the winter, being lazy to see if anyone has spotted any good deals out there to save the shoe leather this weekend.

Aldi had them a week or two ago not sure if there are any left.

One blade passes a second blade rather than Anvil where the blade cuts against the anvil.

Bypass are best for live wood & Anvil for dead wood.

While we're on the lidl bargains for next week - the leaf blower and vacuum they have: will this pick up the dreaded leaves from the lleylandi? They fall on to a fine gravel driveway so can't sweep them

Elephant garlic in Lidl for 59c a bulb - http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/SID-3CE09AF3-A220291B/www_lidl_ie/hs.xsl/3247.htm?action=showDetail&id=1070
If this is the real Elephant garlic it might be worth grabbing a few - usually the cloves are more than this alone to grow. No reason why these couldn't be planted now.

Went down to Lidl after work today and was surprised to see that it really is the real deal, these are absolutely huuge!
Normally a single clove would set you back about two euro!
These will be getting planted in the garden this weekend, lets hope they are not sterile . Usually supermarket garlic has grown just fine for me so i have high hopes.

Heres it beside a large homegrown garlic and a clementine :-

if you get banned are you alowed to rereg with a new name? i know this is in the small print but i'll leave it there.

You'd need to ask a higher power than me. But I doubt it, a site ban would be pretty serious and I'd imagine, final.

Lidl's early spring "Garden Essentials" special is currently running. It's has only about the quarter of the products it had five years ago.

    http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/SID-11D6C508-DB543215/www_lidl_ie/hs.xsl/Offers.htm?id=82

I've tried a few of these a few years ago:
This is pretty good and I'd recommend it:
    http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/SID-7A1E63AE-16F2F2EC/www_lidl_ie/hs.xsl/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=2297

This is ok but only lasts about two years and at the price I would not recommend it:
    http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/SID-7A1E63AE-16F2F2EC/www_lidl_ie/hs.xsl/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=2302

This is fairly good though the cover tends to deteriorate after two years. However, the frame remains good and at the price I'd recommend it:

Just noticed this now about Paddy147 being banned. What was the reason?
if you get banned are you alowed to rereg with a new name? i know this is in the small print but i'll leave it there.

In theory I suppose there is nothing to stop somebody re-registering. All they would need is another email address. Or, if their existing email is gmail, then stick a . anywhere along the address. Though that may be easy for a human to detect.
