    Ive a meeting with the Superintendent on friday morning.
    Its regarding a gun which ive bought, but havnt got the licence for yet.
    I already own 1 gun since 2005.
    Its a lanber over/under.
    My new gun is a Mossberg pump action, which I bought months ago but its still with the dealer.

    I presume he is going to ask me my reasons for wanting to own a second gun. etc.

    Im thinking ill tell him my over/under is for clay pigeons and the mossberg is more suited to hunting game and vermin.

    I could do with any advice anyone here has.
    Any ideas you have that could help me, i would much appreciate it.

    Who requested this meeting ?

    Where in the country are you ?

    Your looking for a second gun and you have to meet the Super :eek:

    Anyway..........be cool, be polite, tell truth and if your in South Tipp. bring a witness !!

    I just got this gun going cheap so I took it.

    I got a phone call today from the station.
    Im in the midlands.

    When I started shooting you were lucky to get 1 x shotgun and 1 x rifle licence, seems we are going back to them days :eek:

    yeah i remember those "good ol days" that weren't too good too, we were probabily a bit spoiled in the last 5 or 6 years when we could licence everything and had the money to pay for the goodies , all slipping away now :(.

    The lads are right. Just tell him you want it for vermin. Truth is easier to remember. Its usually just a case of putting his mind at ease and assuring him you don't want it as an ornament.

    Relax, tell the truth and you'll be fine.

    And remember it only holds 3 cartidges max. Don't say anything about a/the plug in the magazine if your not asked.

    Mac,see the NAGC web site in regard to what is happening in the Balbriggan area. From what I gather there is a lot of confusion and an attitude by the Licencing Authority to remove 75% of all the licenced firearms in this country. The shooters have been sold a pup and we are now in a very serious period where most licenced firearms will no longer exist. Gun dealers and shooting grounds are going to suffer. Some one got this totally wrong mark my words !. What has been tried in Balbriggan is an example of the laws being abused .

    He's sending someone out to inspect my gunsafe,
    and I should get the go ahead then.
