I voted 'stay' on all the ones I've seen:

    Martyrs
    The Devil's Backbone
    28 Days Later
    Brotherhood of the Wolf
    IT
    Carrie
    Friday the 13th.

I haven't seen Dracula, Children of the Corn or The New York Ripper so can't comment on them.

My favourite on the above list has to be The Devil's Backbone, it was a great shout. I wouldn't really have considered Brotherhood of the Wolf a horror, though it has been quite some time since I've seen it. Struck me more as a drama/action, but I remember liking it a lot.

    (031) Dracula (1958) (niallon)

Excellent Hammer horror with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee

    (032) Martyrs (2008) (Kernel)

Wouldn't use the word 'enjoyed' for this one - but it was very interesting and thought provoking..

    (033) Children of the Corn (1984) (Mellor)

Haven't seen this in years - but remember enjoying it at the time.. wonder if its aged well.

    (034) The Devils Backbone (2001) (Kingp35)

Chilling ghost story from Del Toro

    (035) 28 Days Later (2002) (trustno1)

Loved this - its a pity that 28 weeks later just didn't work..

    (036) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2009) (Cactus Col)

    Haven't seen

    (037) IT (1999) (suzie_q)

??.. not sure if a 'made for TV Horror' should be on the definitive 100.. awful film.

    (038) The New York Ripper (1982) (nedtheshed)

    Haven't seen

    (039) Carrie (1976) (greenmachine)

The first Stephen King adapation and still up there as one of the best thanks to the excellent Sissy Spacek as Carrie and Piper Laurie as her overly religious mother..

    (040) Friday the 13th (1980) (nedtheshed)

Meh.. okay first outing for a franchise that just won't stop giving...

    (031) Dracula (1958)
Excellent re-telling of a classic story
    (032) Martyrs (2008) Still havnt seen this.Shame on me.
    (033) Children of the Corn (1984)
A little dated but an interesting story and still enjoyable.
    (034) The Devils Backbone (2001)
    Havnt seen this.
    (035) 28 Days Later (2002)
Great movie. NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE THOUGH:pac:
    (036) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2009)
The only one I voted to go.Wasnt impressed at all.
    (037) IT (1999)
Tim Currys performance keeps this slightly cheesey adaptation on the list.
    (038) The New York Ripper (1982)
Fulci's mysoginistic and ultra violent slasher. As nasty as they come.
    (039) Carrie (1976)
Up there with Shawshank or The Shining as one of the best King adaptations.
    (040) Friday the 13th (1980)
As influential as Halloween IMO.It brought a new level of blood shed and on screen carnage to the fore.

Can agree with all of them except IT. Yeah it scared the hell outta me as a kid but watching it now I can see it for the shanbolic mess of a film it is! You're outta here! :D

    (031) Dracula (1958)

Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, a real hammer classic. Well deserved

    (034) The Devils Backbone (2001)

Great movie and a real chiller

    (035) 28 Days Later (2002)

Enjoyable, decent post apocalyptic romp, wouldnt not be a personal fave but deserves to stay

    (036) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)

Very meh as a horror, think it's more of a costume / period drama myself. Voted against it

    (040) Friday the 13th (1980)

The original and first of the series deserves a spot...

    It's umpteen sequels do not

    (033) Children of the Corn (1984)
    (037) IT (1990)
    (039) Carrie (1976)

There are plenty of Stephen King adaptations on the list and of the above three only Carrie deserves to stay, stellar performance by Sissy Spacek.

IT is very poor, except maybe for the evil clown saying 'they all float down here'. Children of the corn hasnt aged well and the sequels it spawned have been even worse.

(sadly enough I accidentally voted for IT instead of against)

    (032) Martyrs (2008)
    (038) The New York Ripper (1982)
Not seen either of these, but have heard positive things about Martyrs

Children of the Corn I think is fairly poor, quite badly dated and is a pretty poor example of Stephen King adaptations, and for a list that already has The Shining, Carrie and The Mist on it, it doesn't need this. Children of the Corn is the chief one I'd vote to go.

Brotherhood of the Wolf is a fantastic film, but it's not really one I'd call a horror. There certainly are elements of horror present of course, but also martial arts, period drama, mystery, it's far too broad a film to consider a horror. That's not a vote for it to go, just questioning if it really belongs here?

    (031) Dracula (1958)

Maybe the definitive version of Dracula, has to be in.

    (032) Martyrs (2008)

Not a fan, but can see why it deserves to be in there.

    (033) Children of the Corn (1984)

I watched it recently, and enjoyed it. It is dated... but I think, that unlike a lot of films listed, it has seeped it's way into the collective consciousness of a generation of people, and for that alone deserves to be listed.

    (035) 28 Days Later (2002)

    They're ZOMBIES!
Very scary movie, and I think, one of the first mainstream movies shot on Digital Video?

    (036) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2009) (Cactus Col)

It's a classic movie, that does cross genres, but boiled down to its basics is a monster movie through and through.

    (037) IT (1990)

I don't think this belongs on a definitive list. Pennywise would deserve a place on a list of top characters, but this film doesn't hold a candle to pretty much anything else listed.

    (039) Carrie (1976)

    Absolutely classic, has to stay.

    (040) Friday the 13th (1980)

Great slasher film, one of the top horror franchises around.

I'm voting 'Martyrs' out, as I thought it was rubbish. After a very strong opening 20 minutes I was left terribly disappointed by this.

I'm also voting out 'IT', wonderful story that it is, the adaptation was very weak and didn't work as a movie.

Was hovering over 'Children...' and forget which way I voted on that, so I probably kept it in. Favourites in the ten would be 'Carrie' / 'Devil's Backbone' :)

well im for all of them to stay except martyers as i have not see it so i did not vote on that one.
