Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All
I am 19 years old and would like to do my leaving cert...
I dropped out of school when i was 16 .
I am just wondering what route should i go about doing it..
I dont really want to go back to school.
Is there anyway I could study at home and then sit the exams? how do I find out what to study ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Fiona

You can go back to school under the BTEI programme. It stands for Back to Education Initiative. This was you would be treated more like an adult, and would study and learn with other adults.

I am a teacher myself and I also teach the BTEI programme in the school I'm in. If you would like to PM me with the details of where you are living and what subjects you are doing, I will be able to give you more advice.

You may study alone, but if you are the type of person who will have a lot of questions, or if you get confused easily theis option may wind up getting very stressful.

If you are planning on sitting your Leaving Cert by studying alone you will have to start early looking for a school to allow you to sit it with them, and you may be best off starting with your old school in that case. Anyway, the best of luck and feel free to PM me or ask here if you have any more questions

Also if you throw down a quick list of subjects I may be able to help you with regard to what to study, however, after buying books and all, I think BTEI will work out the cheapest option all round
