Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

[rant]Blame microsoft , ealier word processors used to create backup copies by default, it was the norm in 1980's Ctrl-A , A , bam !
proves that Microsoft do NOT give a crap about your files , its not like you will run out of space on modern hard drives [/rant]

if you had always create backup copy ticked then you would be ok
    check for a .wbk document

if you had fast save unclicked then a much better chance of recovering
try photorec to try to recover deleted docs (google)

try undo - probably won't work

check the size of the doc , it if hasn't gotten smaller then make a copy of it , break it and maybe just maybe word will auto recover the missing text or try openoffice to recover the broken doc

problem is that saving files to your hdd may overwrite the data :(

moral - if you have important docs then save with a slightly different name each time you reach a milestone ( again this was the norm on mainframes back in the 1980's - built into the OS )
or mail it to your self
