Iphone 3gs bad signal

    Just got my iphone 3gs yesterday but the signal is terrible.Cant even get 1 bar in my house,,keeps saying stuff like no network and network lost.Have it activated thru itunes.I live in Bailieboro area of Cavan and had a Sony Ericsson w810i on same O2 sim card with perfect coverage,any ideas or anyone with same probs??

    Me and a guy in work had a similar problem with while at work, very poor signal and no signal most of the time. He rang o2 and told them there were three of us who had no signal and they agreed to boost the signal in the area, has been a lot better since.
    Maybe try the same thing, ring them and tell them there are a few of you in the area getting no coverage, they shoild be able to boost it for you.

    Yeah I had but removed it but still no difference,I also disabled the 3g settings but still no use,its sitting here now with 1 bar but if Imove it or even go thru ipod it loses signal,signal just doesnt seem strong enough:mad:

    The reason I asked was because I had a metallic effect cover before, when I removed it I got a lot better signal.
    A long shot would be , if you knew anyone else with an iPhone to see if they get similar results. If they get better than you then it's back to Apple with the phone.

    Yeah think ill nave to contact o2 alrite,ive tried to transfer my contacts over from sim card and it wont even do that,surely you dont need good coverage for that,sim card fecked??Or maybe its just I live n the sticks!!!
