never sent anything with them but I've used DPD: http://www.dpd.ie/ for ordering musical instruments/equipment from mainland Europe and found them to be very good. Nothing's ever gotten lost or damaged to date anyway.

YOu can fed-ex it, there is an office for them around waterford somewhere

I had no luck with Fedex, nothing on there web site indicates drop off /collection in waterford, but it seems DHL has office an in city
