To be honest iv alway been a fan of his trash talk and confidence but I thought he was a bit disrespectful and ignorant in that vid
The "I'm better at life than you" was particularly ****ty in my opinion

If there was ever anybody that deserved that its Skip Bayless. Its a case of comeuppance right there.

Not really I listen to the show regularly and I can't recall him ever saying anything that harsh
To me he's just a guy doing his job and considering the popularity of the show and the huge response this interview got he seems to be doing it particularly well

For the record he far from my favourite sports critic and i would have no issue with sherman critasizing him but I definetly don't think he deserved that level of abuse. It was baseless and frankly If someone said that on boards for example he would be banned/jumped on by other posters

Sherman is a classless, loud mouthed idiot. He did well to avoid the Revis questions and well he should. He has a long, long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same breath as Revis.

I don't mind most of the things he's done and some things (like Super Bowl weekend walking down bourbon st asking people who was better him or revis) are pretty funny this interview however really rubbed me up the wrong way. He needs to find a line.

As a player he's no revis yet and may never be but he is a very good young corner and that position seems to have cockiness as a necessity to be good a lot of the greats are quite cocky

    Hawks/Titans for sure

Depending on where the prior Thursday and Monday games are will try to get to them (Cards, chargers, Raiders, 9'ers) being the easiest options.
Same for the following week if theres a game on the thursday near i'll get to it

Aim is to do a road trip (flights if needed) and get in as many games as possible.

Yeah i will be Adrian, though i havent done too much research into that side of it yet, waiting til the fixtures are out as the exact plan is really dependent on the time of year the game is on

How does he get on the television so much? Stephen A Smith is useless too. Can't stand either of them. Skip Bayless is absolutely completely useless. One of the worst pundits ever.

In my short time watching NFL games/analysis, Skip Bayless has been an awful smug prick. I am now a Richard Sherman fan.

i dont think he is particularley astute but he embraces the Guy everyone loves to hate role that makes him an interesting person to hear people debate with because it means the show has two sides every time unlike some shows that only ever has 2-3 guys agreeing with each other on nearly every topic. hes what they call a "heel" in the wwf and those are generally the most succesful people in it as far as i remember, he plays a role i dont know if he even believes half the crap he comes out with but it creates a debate

do i agree with his tebow infatuation or his dislike with lebron no but he makes the show interesting to listen to once a week

also i dont think hes particularley smug either just stands behind the crap he spouts and i could never imagine him being as insulting as sherman was to him

As i said i like shermans confidence normally it can be quite funny but (and this could just be me im not trying to force my views on anybody of coarse) i felt he overstepped a line and the "im better at life than you" in particular just made him sound like a brat to me

Nice gesture from the Ravens, donating 2 new motorcycles to New Orleans Traffic Division for their treatment during the Super Bowl week:

BALTIMORE, Md. — Ravens donate 2 motorcycles to New Orleans police force as a show of appreciation

The Baltimore Ravens have donated two motorcycles to the New Orleans Police Department Traffic Division as a show of appreciation for the treatment the team received during the week of the Super Bowl.

While in New Orleans, the Ravens received police escorts to and from their destinations, as well as 24-hour security protection.

Team owner Steve Bisciotti says the Ravens provided two 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycles to the New Orleans police force "to show our appreciation for how well our team, our families and our fans were treated by everyone representing New Orleans."

Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones, a New Orleans native, presented the gift on behalf of the organization this morning in New Orleans.

New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu and police superintendent Ronal Serpas accepted the motorcycle

Skip does the reactionary contrian act in the same way Hook and Dunphy do it for rugby and soccer here.

He's a bit of a blow-hard and chances his arm a lot and loves to self-promote but I have to admit to enjoy listening to the First Take podcast every now and again and more regularly around the time of NFL season and the NBA play-offs, which are the two sports Bayless and Smith have real backgrounds in.

Jalen Rose did a far better job attacking Bayless last year (Sherman just engaged in small-minded name-calling that made him look extremely smug and unlikeable) when he called him out on the way he was using his own high school basketball career as a bullet point to give his opinions more credibility. Bayless loves when athletes are stupid enough to get into beefs with him, it's the surest way to get more attention.

Sherman is a difficult egg to figure out. Hated the fella until I watched that video in New Orleans, where he asked random people 'who was better? Richard Sherman or Revis', where he came across very well I thought. I didn't like his reaction to Brady after winning though, nothing worse then a smug winner.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

In fairness to Bayless, he dealt with it well. Pretty much stuck to the facts and called Sherman out on proving himself.

If Sherman thought he was going to faze him, he probably didn't think that Bayless probably faces this **** every day off-camera.

The fact that he even tries to put himself in the same category, just makes me laugh and move on quickly.
