Doubt it's rubbing him the wrong way. He knows football is just business.

A player getting cut because his salary is too high or a team franchising a player, etc happens pretty regularly and is pretty much business as usual in the NFL and even then people get pissed off.

But a coach getting traded or having owners entertain offers for a coach happens once in a blue moon, there must be some ill feelings between for this to happen and even more so after the fact.

Blown way out of proportion, only one source to this "story" and it is is Lombardi.

I seriously doubt a deal was ever close. It's a case of the Browns being used as a pawn in the contract negotiations between 49ers and Harbaugh.

They have asked about the possiblilty but no way were terms of a deal ever agreed.

Dudes in Prison beating shocker. Reading around the different reports on the incident one would swear fights like that don't happen in prison at all. 2 random joes fight in prison and knock the stuffing out of one another and no one cares. Aaron Hernandez does it and its big news. Dude got owned for mouthing of to Hernandez all day and got his ass beat for it. Happens all the time. Besides who is stupid enough to have a go at a guy like Hernandez a suspected Multiple murderer and guy who is jacked. He is doing what every other scumbag does. When in Rome and all that.

yep agreed this stuff happens all the time. Yeah not the smartest go after him given his size and potential gang affiliations, you'd have to assume the inmate did it to try and get a good "rep" for laying the smack down on him

    Yo yo Mister White yo!

Looks like Hernandez is settling in well.

I'm not surprised it's reported. He is a rather famous person. Are reports really suggesting this is rare in prison?

No they aren't but lets face it there is nothing new here and it really isn't news worthy. Having said that it was TMZ who broke the story. Classy news source and all.

To add a lot of the reports are lazy. Some of them suggest Hernandez beat the guy up. But according to this it was a brief struggle:
"It was very brief," Hodgson said. "The officers were right there, and it was stopped within seconds, maybe a minute."

He was probably in bigger fights in pre season

I certainly wouldn't take his word for it. Even the "within seconds, maybe a minute" line is comedy gold. Pretty huge difference in getting a beating for a few seconds compared to nearly a minute. I'd say the true is somewhere in the middle between the **** TMZ would spew an the **** a sheriff covering ass would.

Im not taking anyones word for it. No surprises TMZ came up with the story and everyone else based their story on what TMZ came up with and some went as far to add more to the story. I wouldn't be surprised to learn it wasn't worthy of a story and nothing but a typical run of the mill Jail scuffle. My whole point is had it not been Aaron Hernandez there would be absolutely no story about it or conflicting reports about it. Either way one scumbag beating up another scumbag in jail is a pointless story to even bother with famous or not.

The Competition Committee are discussing moving the extra point attempt to the 25 yard line, while the 2 point attempt would then take place from the 43 yard line.

Like the 25 yard line, not sure about the two point one though. Seems to be very easy to get two points then. Like the current way the two point is.

its the 1 point would be from the 42 yard line as of now there not talking about changing the 2 point attempt

Unnecessary tweaking imo. Considering the amount of shyte calls in 2013, the League might better spend their time recruiting younger officiating crews/crew with better eye sight. Or maybe review the DPI rule, any CB that even farts near a WR and we have "Pass interference defense, 15 yard penalty, 1st Down."

cowboys push a few contracts back to get closer to the cap for this year but now there in trouble for next year. Romos due 27.7 million next year alone

Same thing every year with them. They will extend him again into the future next year.

Let's just say Romo decides to retire next year. What's to stop the Cowboys deciding to split that 27.2 Million over 10 years bringing the cap hit to let's say 15 million in 2015 and then split the rest over the remaining 9 years. Is that still legal in the NFL?

If that was a concern, why not just make it a drop goal instead. That would be less of a given and a nice throw back to older days.

When a player retires the team no longer has to pay the salary money however all the guranteed money immediately becomes due

A Ravens site wrote up the FAQ when Ray Lewis retired
    http://russellstreetreport.com/nfl-salary-cap-faq/

According to overthecap if Romo retires after the 2014 season then 29,908,000 immediately becomes due. That has to be cleared so no, the Cowboys cannot work this over a number of years.

    http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Tony%20Romo&Position=QB&Team=Cowboys

For another example Ray Lewis certainly wasn't on QB money and his retirement left the Ravens with 2,950,000 in dead money this year.

Restructuring vets is a horrible idea, sometimes it has to be done but it solves nothing long term. Lions, Cowboys and Steelers have been doing it for years.

And that perpetual joke of a franchise continues along. Will they ever learn.

If the Cowboys fail to make the post-season this year, then I think they have to seriously think about cutting him. You can't pay a QB €27m in one year when he has failed to lead his team to a playoff berth in what would be 5 seasons.

He also turns 34 come April.
