not bad considering they were ranked 31 out of 32 in passing last year, it's almost like there was more important players than the qb

Don't get me wrong i think he's the 3rd maybe 4th best qb from his class and any half decent qb could have won the Super Bowl in particular but he's a good qb.

but in a league where plenty of players have been involved in murder cases, one of them in particular likely murdered multiple people and far far to many players get in trouble with the law every offseason. any player that does the things wilson does smug or not smug should be given all the credit in the world, he's a professional and a model citizen who more importantly happened to land in a good situation and took full advantage of it.

I've re watched the super bowl in condensed form this morning after the talk of Russell Wilson and a question I have is, was it the case of the Seahawks being very very good that night or did the best team in the league last year have one horrible night from literally the first snap help the Seahawks look good ?

probably a mixture of both but if you choke you choke give the hawks credit for not doing so also they beat probably the 2nd/3rd best team in the league in the nfc championship game so i think they fully deserve it.

Yeah you're right, I mean the broncos **** the course but the other team still had to score the points as as bad as the broncos played they weren't going to just let the hawks score as they are all professionals.

    The 'Swanny Football' headline :pac:

He also got drafted by the Padres today in a publicity stunt:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/06/07/san-diego-padres-draft-johnny-manziel/?utm_source=fantasyleaguegm.com
The San Diego Chargers didn’t get a crack at quarterback Johnny Manziel in the NFL draft. The San Diego Padres — along with every other Major League Baseball team — got plenty of cracks at Manziel in the MLB draft.

    Eventually, the Padres pounced.

As noted by our brethren at CFT, the Padres selected Manziel in the 28th round.

It’s likely little more than a publicity stunt, which eventually could prompt a Russell Wilson-style visit to spring training and other notoriety, including the fact that the name “San Diego Padres” is getting national attention at a time when the team otherwise would get none.

Manziel, who has yet to sign a contract with the Browns and could, in theory, decide to ditch football for baseball, surely has no interest in becoming a modern-day Bo Jackson. But he has no reason to complain about a development that allows Johnny Football a/k/a Johnny Cleveland a/k/a Johnny Vegas to add another alias to his portfolio.

    Johnny San Diego.

Does anyone know what's happening with Justin Blackmon?

He was suspended indefinitely in November 2013, but appears vanished since then. Has there been any sort of word of how long his suspension will actually be for or when he'll be re-instated?

The fact that the Jaguars drafted Robinson and Lee in the 2nd round this draft doesn't look good for his status obviously, which is a shame because he has a lot of potential and went for over 400 yards off less than 30 receptions in just four games when he was available last year. However, if the Jaguars were going to cut him they'd probably have done it before now so it looks like he'll get one more chance.

Blackmon, Lee and Robinson would be a very nice receiving trio, lots of potential. I'd like to it have at least one shot together.

Interesting story from the 2012 draft which I read from Mike Silver earlier, the article is a couple of years old. The Rams really wanted Blackmon (and Richardson). I've just copied the Blackmon part but the rest is worth a read:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--rams-get-their-man-michael-brockers--ndash--after-their-first-two-choices-were-drafted.html;_ylt=AuH7It1abQTWn2pv53ZSz
The Bucs, Fisher and Snead believed, weren't likely to select Blackmon. When the Rams' IT director, Bill Consoli, announced that the Jags had traded up for the fifth pick (information that was revealed in the war room minutes before television viewers received the news, as Consoli was communicating with counterparts from the league's 31 other franchises), Fisher slammed his eyeglasses onto the table and uttered a one-syllable expletive.

Last thing I read was that Cecil Shorts was in town near where Blackmon lives and tried to get in touch with him several times. Blackmon didn't return any of his calls.

The titans beat writers have said he's basically gone 100% awol, Paul Kuharsky who did the AFC South for ESPN and now the Titans has tried to get in contact with his agent without success with Blackmon and people he knew from his camp without success aswell, he has just dropped off the grid it seems.

A shame he was a really good receiver

What the hell are "Certain activities", that could be anything.

Other than the Bowling I think we could swing it for Dublin. They can have the "Presidential Suite" at Jury's Inn.

drugs and prostitutes seem to be what it means.

This is pretty cool. A guy proposes to his girlfriend (who is a diehard Ravens fan) at the Ravens facility, when coincidentally John Harbaugh walks out. :pac:

    http://www.footballperspective.com/the-greatest-qb-of-all-time-v-part-i-methodology/

football perspective made a list of the top 200 qb seasons of all time thought it was nice to see this list its different from the standard best abs list.

unsurprisingly peyton leads the way with 11 of the top 200 seasons
unsurprisingly the 49ers have the most top 200 seasons with 17
surprisingly the eagles have the most number of qbs on the list with 8

It sure was. It was a nice touch from Harbaugh too to chat with them. Amazing how giving up your time for a couple of minutes can make someones day. The girl looked more excited to see Harbaugh than the engagement ring, I think it will take her a while to get over the shock of both. :pac:

    Hi,
For the american football game in Croke park this August ticket prices are:
    • Hill 16/terrace €20
    • Lower Deck halfway line €80
    • Lower Deck by corner flag (I know there's no corner flag in american football but you know where I mean) €40
    • Upper Deck, half way between corner flag and half way €50

Is it worth paying the extra to be by the half way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pa.
