I reckon the only reason Tate got cut is because Taylor Price has overtaken him.

Defo for me Tate was on borrowed time. He didn't turn out the way we wanted him to. And as soon as Price showed promise Tate's days were numbered.

Brian Waters is now a Patriot. Good veteran pick up in an area of need. Happy with that, Waters still has a lot to offer.

5 time Pro Bowler and always gives 100% on every play... could be a very good signing, and has plenty of experience to pass down as well

The Patriots really are doing a fantastic job of late of picking up the quality cast-offs of other teams.

    Great strategy to employ.

Most of these guys are hungry and have something to prove, and most of them despite multiple Pro-Bowl careers want the one thing most of them haven't got; a ring on their finger. They take less money than would be offer elsewhere to team up with Belichick and Brady for the chance at that. If guys like Ochocinco, Haynesworth, Alberts & Ellis work out, then great. If they don't, you haven't lost a lot.

They had a good look at guys like Marcus Stroud and Clinton Portis too, and are supposed to be bringing in Andre Gurode for a look too.

Brian Waters is an excellent grab and the fact we took him today means that Connollys injury is worrying the Pats. He fixes the issues on the right side of that O-line now. He is a solid blocker both on runs and passes. Only concern is age and whether or not he still has a full tank of gas left in him which a lot suggest he does so good times all round for that o-line.

Lads is there a catchup show on telly here? Like Revista with Spanish football, I remember there being one late on Thursday nights on TV3 a few years back.

He's been picked up by the Bengals.

Feel sorry for any WR going to the Bungals if they can't sort out that QB situation.

There has been bits of talk in the last couple of days of Carson Palmer going back, but can't see it myself.

If I were them I'd be starting with Gradkowski. He's no world beater, but he's gritty enough to keep them in games. I think their defense is decent.

Holy **** f1dan - that lead me straight to the eagles :D :pac::pac::pac:

Yeah same I would rather experience over a rookie any day. And Gradkowski showed flashes of decency when with the Raiders.

I did it and was amazingly lead all the way to the Buccs, who I do actually follow! :D

Pats fans whats the lowndown on Will Yeatman?

Any promise? Athletic or a blocker?

Average in college nearly threw away his scholarship in ND before transferring to Maryland where he was also just average. More of a run blocker if anything. Good size is all.

Edit: Didn't see enough of him really to judge his pro abilities ye know.

Should fit right in with the rest of our TE's so

You never know he might turn out alright. I mean he played Lacrosse and that is a fairly pacey game. So he must have some sort of athletic ability there. But if he did it begs the question why didn't it show during his ND and Terps days on the football field. In the short time we saw him in pre-season he made a couple of grabs but nothing special.

If its any consolation the Pats planned to keep him on the practice squad and Bill saw something in the kid.

Could maybe argue he was a victim of numbers also, as you guys are stacked at TE. Judging from what you have said and his size, he could turn out to be a decent blocking TE. Problem is we haven't had an athletic TE since Randy McMichael and we only seem to take an interest in TE's who are better blockers than receivers.

Needless to say, a seam busting TE can make a huge difference to an offense.

Its not that as we only now have 2 TE on our 53 man roster. Gronk and Hernandez.

Probably did take him for his blocking but from reading about him before tonight the word Raw came up a lot. Now whether or not they mean he has raw talent as a receiving TE who knows. But obviously BB saw something in him to even sign him originally. Gots to have some sort of quality.

    Very true.

    Was Alge Crumpler cut?

Surprised if so as he was quite an effective blocker last season.

Crumpler was cut when the lockout ended. Have to say I hope the Pats have made room at the TE spot to bring back Crumpler or someone like him.

Rumours coming out that Peyton manning needs a second neck surgery and will be placed on IR. Texans for the division seem great value now.

Colts will struggle to win 6 games if true.

No way are the Colts as prepared to handle their HOF QB going down like the Pats were 2 years ago.

It means the level of play is very low.

I see that Peyton manning's situtaion is getting more and more precarious. Evaluating the need for a second operation on the neck which is not healing. Apparently a real chance he misses week 1 now and if he gets this operation, he would be out for the first 5 weeks or so.

Indianapolis Colts Statement on Peyton Manningicon-article-link.gif’s Status
In response to a number of media inquiries, the Colts issue the following update on Peyton Manning’s status.
During the last week, the rate of improvement in Peyton’s rehabilitation process slowed. Over the weekend Peyton experienced soreness in his back. It was originally thought to be a normal reaction to his rehabilitation regimen. When the soreness persisted, the Colts medical team decided to initiate diagnostic tests and to consult with a number of specialists around the country who have been involved in Peyton’s case from the outset. That process continues. As a result of the most recent development the doctors have decided that Peyton will not practice. His participation therefore, in Sunday’s game versus Houston will likely be doubtful. We will update his playing status as required by NFL policy as the week goes on.
At the conclusion of the diagnostic process, if there are any new developments in the prognosis which we outlined for Peyton at the start of training camp we will report them. As of now Peyton continues to deal with a complicated neurological recovery, the end date of which is unpredictable.
As was stated at the outset, it serves no useful purpose to speculate about hypothetical outcomes. When and if there are concrete medical facts to report we will do so.
We appreciate your consideration in this matter.
