    Pats cut Bodden.

He wasn't playing well but its still a shock. He's the 3rd best CB on our team and his salary has already been guaranteed for the season (unless somebody takes him on waivers) so its not a salary move.

He must have pissed BB off somehow.

The more i look at it, it has to be a discipline issue. If it was based on performance he would have been cut monday week or at least this Monday.

    Corners left:
    1. McCourty (underachieving at the mo)
    2. Arrington (Reliable starter, nothing flashy)
    3. Dowling (still have to see him play, seems v injury prone)
    4. Molden (No idea, was only on the practise squad a couple of weeks ago)
    5. Adams (No idea, was only on the practise squad a couple of weeks ago)

probably shouldnt have let wilhite go tbh, he's doing ok over with us at denver, ye could have done with the depth

really sad to hear that with owens, i think teams are overestimating his character issues a bit and forgetting his talent, he really put up great numbers in cincy the last two years and there was hardly a peep from him

Started the first 2 games of the season and looked like any rookie shakey at best. Hopefully since he has come back from injury he is ready to go. Still to prove his worth.

Molden I have to say looks alright, Bodden frustrates me personally. Missed all of 2010 through injury which is fair enough but this year has been poor. He wasn't the same player we had in 2009 and with that large contract he was on I can see why we cut him.

Chicago Rush of the Arena League offered Owens a place on the team. Bit of a climbdown but he would outclass anyone in the league.
You would hope he gets some sort of role somewhere, even if it is just to keep hhis mind off things or give him some goals or something...

Aaron Rodgers' baby bro Jordan getting it done for Vandy today, 1 passing TD and 2 on the ground so far against Arkansas.

Jesus, and here was me thinking that Bodden's release was a sign of confidence in Dowling's fitness.

No surprises there. Said it during the draft the guy is made of glass, how on earth you choose someone with that amount of injuries in the SECOND ROUND is truly beyond me.

    ESPN America.

Not sure what time, I've never been able to get my head around clocks going forward/back, but it's on at 8pm ET in the US.

Midnight as the US clocks dont go back until next week. So the EST now becomes a 4 hour difference for week.

ESPN America have it down as midnight.

Sweet, thanks. That's what I thought, but UPC online guide threw me waaaay off with a starting time of 2am :o

Is it not 1am here that it's on?

It's 6.30pm ET at the minute, and the game is 8pm ET KO. That'd be 1am here.

Our clocks don't go back until 2am either.

You would be right the schedule im looking at made the same mistake i did. Checked the Sky box just now and its showing 1am.

So it's on in an hour and 25 minutes then?

Ah sure my head does be fried with the changeover in times. Normally I'm drunk at this stage on a bank holiday weekend so then it becomes extra complicated!

Either way, can't wait for what should be a cracker.

Good article here on Grantland about the QB Power Rankings

    http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7160762/nfl-quarterback-power-rankings

Couple of things I disagree with, but Bill Simmons is a demigod when it comes to sports jounalism and his articles are always very entertaining. Two of my favourite parts are his write-up on Matt Schaub:
    12. Matt Schaub
Porn name: Luke Warm. Can you remember an above-average QB provoking less opinion over a longer period of time? If I effusively praised Schaub, you'd think this was bizarre. If I attacked him, you'd also think this was bizarre. If I told you, "Did you know Matt Schaub has started 61 games and only won three in a row three times?" (true by the way), you wouldn't be shocked. Houston flipped two second-rounders for him five years ago, got a solid QB out of it … and you never hear that trade mentioned as a steal, a bust, anything. When he goes in fantasy drafts or auctions, nobody ever says anything; you just kinda nod and move on. I could see him finishing his career two games over .500 with no playoff wins, and then Houston retiring his number and not being able to fully form an opinion about it.

....and his suggestion of a Carson Palmer Halloween costume:
That reminds me, it's time for my annual choices for Halloween costumes! Let's zoom through these quickly.

    Costume No. 1: Carson Palmer
Just wear a Raiders jersey that you overpaid for, then spill beers into people all night while repeatedly telling everyone you're sorry.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been charged with indecent assault and battery and is due in Boston Municipal Court Tuesday, according to the office of Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.

Another freed up roster spot by the looks of it. Aurevoir Edelman.

    Shame. :(

I like/liked Edelman. But with this, he could indeed be released.

If he gets cut move Josh Victorian CB up from the practice squad?
I know it's a different position but Bodden was cut recently

Yeah he's inexperienced and raw but there were a few Ravens fans who wanted to keep him around after a good pre-season.
Well not sure what he can contribute this season but he's worth keeping around

Plus he has a cool name

Id say he will sit in practice squad for a couple of weeks until they see what he has and can do.

Just as a quick aside - what is the story with practice squad players?

Are they tied to the team they are with or are they free to move on if they get offered a roster spot on another team?

They can be signed by other teams but they must stay on the new teams roster for a minimum of three weeks
