Meh, wouldn't be too worried at the prospect of Sparano being their OC. For a guy that was an OL specialist he left Miami's O-Line in a complete mess (apart from Long and more recently Pouncey). Miami's running game also went hugely downhill after his second year in charge and he NEVER called offensive plays. Miami always had OC's who did the play calling in Henning and Dabol.

He will have inside info on the Dolphins, but thats about the only advantage the Jets will gain IMO. And the Fins aren't the ones they are trying to live with.

Sparano and Ryan on the same coaching staff is going to be an epic failure. Two aresholes coaching side by side. Jets are becoming a circus.

"We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice," one player told the newspaper. "He's lazy and content because he knows he's not going to be benched."
His teammates aren't so patient. Asked about the possibility of pursuing Peyton Manning -- depending on what the Colts decide to do with their star quarterback -- one team source said Sanchez's career development shouldn't stand in the way.

“Come on. That's a no-brainer," the source told the Daily News. "If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don't do it, then you're stupid. If I could get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning, then, hell yeah, I would trade Sanchez."
"How can we when he's not improving at all?” one player said. “He thinks he is, but he's not. He has shown us what he's capable of."

The funny thing being that Sanchez have consistently went up over his 3 years in the League yet he's still awful.

I meant to post this yesterday but today will have to do.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of "The Catch" one of the most famous plays in modern football history.

The video below (poor quality, sorry) shows the entire drive leading up to the catch.

It's funny how many similarities there are between the 1981 season and this years 49ers campaign.

Both years the 49ers were coming off a 6-10 season, both years they finished 13-3.

Head coach hired out of Stanford, very low exceptions going into the season, 49ers looking for a bit of success after many seasons without success.

In this game Montana threw 3 interceptions so wasn't having a great game up until that final drive.

    Love 80's NFL....

    DB's competing with WR's
    Tom Landry in a suit
The "upstart 49ers" - 5 superbowls later we will never hear them described like that again!
Montana doing what he did best
    Dallas QB Danny White punting.
6 turnovers and the 49ers still won the game!

I'd love if Sky Sports showed some of these old games (NFL network airs them from time to time. .Even if it was at 0300 in the morning. Sky+ till the next day!

There were a good few old games on ESPN (dunno if it was classic..) during pre-season and off-season but only managed to see one or two of them.

I tried to catch most of them. I do love watching the games from the 80s though. It really was a different game. I have to admit that when the West Coast and its off shoots came into the game, a little of the excitement went out of it for me.

If you watch an old game from the 80s or farther back) to see the amount of 7 step drops and deep passing, plays breaking down qbs scrambling, and knowing (and seeing) a defensive lineman take out a qb made for edge of your seat excitement.

Probably the best thread for this.

Matt Light compares Tim Tebow to a girl doing a handstand eating M&M's
"No, I’m never surprised at what gets talked about any more," Light said when asked if he was surprised by all the hype around Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and Saturday's Divisional round clash at Gillette Stadium.

"I think I saw a seven-minute [television] piece on a girl that ate M&M’s while doing a handstand. And that was interesting; I got into it for a while.

I just think that, any time there’s anything new -- and [Tebow is] obviously new -- he’s done some incredible things this season, I think the hype is justified. I think when you go out and lead a team like that, make the kind of plays that they are making, people are going to talk about you.

John Parr has updated Man in Motion from the St Elmo's Fire tune to the Tim Tebow's Fire tune

Even still that was praise. Bill knows well not to let his players give the broncos bulletin board material, we thrive on that sort of thing. Nearly every team that trashed us in the week before paid for it that Sunday, Bill and the pats were smart enough to praise the hell out of us and Tebow. Tebow works best when he's doubted, that's why our 2 best results this year (win @ Oakland, last sunday) were when serious question marks were arising about his ability and when a switch to Brady Quinn was touted.

As for the Sanchez thing...any money that source is either Holmes or Cromartie. Either way though, he sucks and seems to have a poor attitude so the Jets should move on, he's held them back from taking the next step.

ye it has to be Holmes after what happened!

Doubt any media sources would run with quotes with Holmes after the year he has had...he has no credibility at all!

Jeff Fisher has just agreed to become the Rams head coach according to Adam Schefter!

This is the media though. Anything will do to stir up a scandal. I'd be highly surprised if it wasn't a known idiot like him or Cromartie. Maybe Bart Scott. Can't really see the likes of LT doing something as cheap for example and a lot of teammates have come out and defended him

Mike Zimmer linked to the Bucs job

An old school hard ass coach

And every effective, could well be a good hire

I would think Ronde Barber stays on for another year even at 36

Zimmer is one of the top DCs in the league and the players love him in Cincinnati, would be a very interesting hire, he has what it takes imo.

Barber might be persuaded yeah, they need him considering Talib is going to prison

    Mississippi v LSU maybe?

Arkansas vs Tennessee as far as I can tell.

Its definitly in the Razorbacks Stadium from the sideline and endzone.

Looks like Tennessee's colours as well. Yellow numbers and no Purple as LSU would have.

Joe Adams Punt Return Tennessee vs. Arkansas

Surprised everybody hadn't already seen it.

I've seen the run before, just couldn't remember who it was! Find the Rage faces better than the run!

    Haha Ochocinco is some man.

Some guy had a go at him for ignoring his tweets for 2 years.
Ochocinco says Sorry, want to come to the match this weekend?
You man jokingly says, sure but you'll have to fly me up from Florida.
Ocho says, Ok... arranges flights and an airport transfer.
Buys your man dinner, and as much Pats gear as he can carry!

Rediculous, but pretty much any sports fan's dream!

Ocho has always struck me as a good guy, even with all his (sometimes awesome!) melodrama. He's also shown alot of class this year when he's hardly been involved with the Patriots offense and hasn't gone running to the media about it.

He's a big personality aye but he seems to have a heart of gold. Very likeable player when all is said and done.
