I have a hotmail account, and I always hear people going on about getting their emails "pushed" to their phones etc....

Can someone give me the laymans on this? I've never used my N95 for doing emails etc...but I'd like to find out about how stuff like this works, esp if I'm going to get a N900.

What exactly do you want to do>?
You can use pop in the messaging folder.
You can setup email syncing with the nokia 'messaging' app, which can let you know when you get an email.
Or you could just browse to hotmail.com in a browser.

Menu > messaging > then its 'mail' or 'email' cant remember exactly. You out in your address and password and then connect and it will give you the emails. It only updates when you want to. This explains it better than i would: http://email.about.com/cs/standards/a/pop_basics.htm

    Have a look at : http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action

so basically I'd have to be connect to the internet via wi-fi etc in order to get my emails pushed to my phone?

I set up using http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action and afer I disconnected from the internet there is a "@" symbol in the top right of the screen. What does this mean?
