    Hi,
    I recently got 7MB broadband and it was going good for the first week and after that it went slow. down to 400kbps.
    This morning i noticed something that i think is the problem.
    i typed in my router ip address and saw
    Speed: 4096/384 (kbps)

    How did my router settings change from 7MB to 4mb.
    I'm paying for 7mb and i was getting it for the first week.
    did eircom change it?

    Dunno TBH, unit ventilation, water on line , distance , crosstalk with neighbours getting BB maybe all the above.

    What happens when you power if off overnight at 11pm and turn it on the next day??

    i got it fixed. eircom recently changed my port at exchange. so i called them today and they changed it back to 7168 kbps
