Goal 1: Enter club races in 2010 and not get whupped.
    Current staus: Unknown.
Method: Enter race, review current training plan post-race.

Goal 2: Increase flexibility so I can touch my toes with my knees locked.
Current staus: Currently the length of a biro from achieving goal.
Method: Do more stretching and perhaps yoga.

Goal 3: Sub 25.5 in the next Gold sprints, Sub 25.0 in 2010, hopefully without injuring hamstrings.
    Current Staus: 25:81.
Method: Commute with intent, put fixie back on the road, pedal faster.

I think you need to reset Goal 3 Pete - why not go for sub 24.5?

I was hoping to rest on my laurels now that I acheived my goal.

I have cycled my bike once since christmas and that was from Artane to Stoneybatter and back, in the snow.
    I HATE MY JOB.

New target is 24.5 in goldsprints but I don't think I can do it. I'd say 24.7s will be my limit.

Stretching is out the window. Training for racing is out the window too. Taking a few months holidays from next week on, so I hope to be flying then. I'll be on for mid week and night rides if anyone is about.

Where did it all go wrong George?

Went out on a club spin with Dublin Wheelers today, first proper spin since November. Felt totally unfit and got dropped on the way back on the outskirts of Dublin. Just had a nap on the couch there.....for 5 HOURS!!!!

Well it can only get better.

Got me a couple of inhalers and I'm back on the bike. Lungs seem to be holding up fine. Fitness is low. Weight is high. Entered the 20th century and bought a cycle computer .......and a compass.

Yesterday while out, I saw something my eyes can't unsee. A cyclist with a very revealing hole in his shorts. VERY REVEALING. I feel a bit sick.

On my spin today I saw 3 USPS clad cyclists. Given it was such a sunny day this should have been expected. I think they're planning their next spin around the Tour de France, then that'll be the end of the cycling season.

Oh and Fixie, I'm coming for my title.

Got back from the Dingle Peninsula yesterday.

Thursday: Put rack on the bike and bought some Ortlieb Front Roller Classic Panniers.

Friday: Took the train to Farranfore, hopped off and cycled to Dingle through Inch. Lovely views.

Saturday: Did the Slea Head route and took about every side road I could along the way. Highly Recommended.

Sunday: Did Connor Pass, Brandon Point, Castegregory and back over Connor Pass. Its an amazing climb from the Castlegregory side.

Monday: Rode back to Farranfore. Got the train to Dublin. Journey was enlivened by the couple who got on at Limerick Junction and around Newbridge asked what time the train was arriving in Cork.

    So what have I learned:
Dingle is the second best peninsula in the country.
Dingle is an awful name for such a lovely place, I can see why some locals want it renamed.
Despite the Iron content, pints of Guinness do not raise your hematocrit.
An Canteen and Goat St Cafe are nice places to eat.

So I found out the cause of all my lung problems. I'm allergic to my bedroom.

I also found out I have a hematocrit of 47.2. So when I move house and fix my lungs I should be winning the TDF. hmmm no, I need to give a months notice, find a new house.... I think I'll target the Vuelta.

Woohoo, in a notch on my belt. I was at 2 creeping towards 1. Now at 3.

Training seems to be going well, unless the belt is stretching.

How did your 2010 club racing season go? :p

Changed stem and handlebars a few weeks ago. Didn't bother putting on my bike computer. I realised I prefer training without it.

Hill repeats of Howth are getting easier. Must move down a gear next week.

    Continued with the commutes.

Cycled from Dublin to Carlinford today with the panniers on. Took some coastal detours. Felt very strong:). The wind was with me:(.

60Km ish around the Cooley mountains yesterday. Gave the white shoes their first outing. A bit daunting in an area where anyone wearing white football boots gets labelled a spice boy or Brooklyn. No passing motorists shouted abuse though.

I can play the opening melody to Billie Jean on my spokes. The keyboard line, not the bass.

    Review.
2011 Entered 1 Open race. Got Dropped
    2012 Entered 2 Open races. 1 Drop, 1 Win.
    A 4 month hiatus followed.

Goal 2: Increase flexibility so I can touch my toes with my knees locked.
Current staus: Currently the length of a biro from achieving goal.
Method: Do more stretching and perhaps yoga.

Rather than doing yoga, I now sit on the ground unsupported at every available opportunity. I feel more comfortable on the bike.

I think I'm at 24.94 but Goldsprints seems to be on hold.
