I'm not talking about keeping whites and colours separate I mean clothes that have white and a colour in them.

For instance, most of my underwear would be mainly coloured but then have a white lace trim or something like that. The trim always... ALWAYS ends up looking grey which just is not sexy. I've a few sets that are black with a white trim (about 20% would be white of the garment) and no matter what I do either the black will fade ( if I put a keep-it-white in ) or the white will turn grey eventually. Now I'm not talking about mad expensive underwear or anything just like cotton french knickers and the likes or the straps on bras and such, it's getting really frustrating!

Has anyone any ideas how I stop this?

Have you tried colour catcher? It's just a sheet that you put into the wash that catches dye in the water...

Yeah I've tried ColourCatcher but even still they just end up grey, albeit after a longer period of time, but grey nonetheless.

I was hoping for some old timey tips that my parents/grandparents would've done but my mam has no ideas either.
