    I have the l33t M4h094ny version though.

TBH, a chair is a chair, is it not?

You'd be better of getting yourself a nice comfortable chair and a set of decent headphones really. There's no great benefit to the gaming chairs at all other than some having speakers built in and a few having vibration effects - both not up to much at all and the gimmick wears off after a couple hours.

If you did want something to add a little extra to games then think about the philips Amiblight speaker sets. Bit of an arse to setup and they have their small issues (no volume control on units for instance) but the light effects are fantastic and the fan/vibration thing add a little also with the games they work with.

    http://www.ambilight4pc.com/philips-ambx/philips-ambx.html

Was a thread in Bargain Alerts forum here a short while back giving details on places selling them cheaply.

Nice comfortable chair + set of those ambilight speakers = happy chappy :)

Those phillips ambilight speakers are a load of smegma to be honest. Even look at the videos of it, blue lights while the screen is filled with green content. Random purpleness.

Vikingdirect sell a load of really good office chairs at a really good price. And get a nice set of heaphones like the razer megaladons or logitech G35 ( Oh btw logitech, the 80's called, they want their air controller headphone design back )

Middle of the road chair suggestion for you here.

    http://www.instore.ie/furniture/office/office-chairs/executive-genoa-office-chair-black.html

With Viking it seems to be hideously ugly leather chairs for €50 - €70 or a nice big padded bugger for €170ish. Helsinki i think is nice or the roma but €190 ugh. :p

Theyre great arent they, i was surprised when i found them. Which desk did you get off them?

Theres one im considering from Ikea, dirt cheap but its the hassle of it, may see if a courier can actually pick up stuff or something. Otherwise theres eh ugly but efficient desks off Viking or a relatively nice one off shopdekko but a week for it to come into stock and expensive.
Im lost with the small variety of desks.

I've been using a PC World 'PC Line' executive style chair now for almost 3 years. I love it, it's using daily and not showing any wear or tear. Comfortable too....though I tend to sit forward in my chair, so to be honest as long as its padded it's all good for me. Anyway, it was only 49.99, worth a look to anyone still putting up with their parents giving them grief over nicking the spare dining chair.

Yeah, there is no need to go crazy on price with these. My one was 50 or 60 euro from viking. Great chair.

I got the ZED be wary that this one huge desk and heavy too!

Make sure you do the measurements b4 you order the best thing about them is that you can pick and choose what you want!

I ended up not buying the corner unit and the keyboard tray.
Is was like €170 for this incredible looking executive desk.

Also the chairs I got are also from viking
Only €50 a pop and everyone comments on these!

Ikea will ship your tat to your house seemingly....

To be fair I did pick up a very simple table there: €20 tabletop with x4 height adjustable legs @ x €9 per leg...

Sh_it simple and plenty wide. It's all you really need for a pc table....

Pick and mix PC table for ftw....

As much as I hate Ikea and think they are evil, they do what they do well....

That is a very nice desk, i had not noticed it at all really. I am really looking for something with 70cm depth, width isnt such an issue, anything over 120cm really. I just need to be able to push stuff towards the back of the desk, i think im a bit OCD about layouts.

I had assumed they only deliver within Dublin, hadnt even thought of ringing them about it. Would go up there myself but college exams next week.

Someone I know is spending €600-ish on a Jesus-chair from this site:

    http://www.humanscale.com/products/seating.cfm

He has back issues and, considering the amount of time that's spent at the computer, figures it it worth the money.

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭stylie

Thanks for the advice...I think after the amount we spend on our pc's and the time we spend in front of them a good chair is well worth the investment...I might not go down the route of the gaming chair now, most dont post to Ireland anyway...think I might get a decent exec chair :)

We use chairs similar to these in our offices I from what I heard they are indeed very pricey. Don't find them all that comfortable to be honest though, I always end up sliding down the chair until I'm almost horizontal

Haha see thats a nice chair.
I got a shock a few weeks ago, sleepily ambled into a lab in college on saturday morning and they were after getting anti slouch chairs in there. You cannot slouch in the chair, its bloody horrible the seat sticks to your arse so you cant slide down in it.

The videos don't do them justice, they actually do replicate the lights on screen surprisingly well. Games like wow in particular, with all the different colours, each light will replicate the colours that side of the screen if needed and the back light (wall washer) will blend at times with both side lights to smooth out the light colouring experienced.

Just if you're looking for something to improve your gaming experience, a set of those lights would do a lot more than a silly gaming chair.

Oh and a G19 keyboard, so you can watch pr0n on the little screen while raiding...

That is what Monitors 5 and 6 on your primary box and 1 and 2 on your secondary box are for.
