Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey everyone,

I'm currently in the middle of applying for a post grad in Technology and Design for 2010 and I need to write a personal statement about myself, my experiences, etc. Now I have no teaching experience so I want it to be pretty good and stand out as much as possible. I will try highlight my work experience although none of it has got to do with teaching. Has anyone got any ideas where I could find sample one's or any tips on what I should/should not put into it. Any help greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about this course - it is to qualify for teaching tech graphics and related subjects?
I have written personal statements before though and I think first and foremost you should say why exactly you want to be a teacher. Probably a good idea to explain that and talk about why you want to work with young people and anything at all, coaching etc you have done in that respect you should put down. Any other experience, even if it does not relate specifically to teaching you should talk about too, say things you have done which demonstrate organisational skills, extra practical skills, or any extra courses etc which show how interested you are in education.
Hope this is of some use. Since teaching is a vocation they probabaly want to see evidence that you are really interested and if you want to do it then just let them know exactly how much :)
