NFC technology has been out for quite a while in the far east with special purpose phones like the the Nokia
    6212

One of the barriers of introducing this technology to Europe and the States was that people would have to change their handset.

Now a company has developed a micro SD card that contains the etag that can be fitted into any 3G phone that has a Micro SD slot and the correct firmware.

No one would want them now, they look so bland and dated.

I have also noticed Sony Ericsson have ditched their proprietry Memory Stick Micro M2 on their latest range including the sateo in favour of micro SD. Maybe they are gearing up for this and don't want to be left in the dark.
