Anyone have any ideas for buying presents for your respective mothers? I have no clue...normally I go down the voucher route but prefer to actually buy something decent this time.. I have a budget of around 50 euro and any suggestions or your own ideas of what you buy for your mum would be appreciated. Thanks!

    - perfume
    - bath robe / dressing gown
    - digital photo frame (depending on how good she is with technology!)
    - tickets to a show she'd like
    - NICE toiletries, e.g. body shop, lush, etc.

i know these are vouchers but theyre theyre a bit different:
    - facial/massage/some beauty treatment
    - family photo, my friend got 1 of these done, think it was around 50 for the session which included 1 photo, then you had the option to buy more if you wanted (1 photo is a bit stingy, im sure theres different places with different options

Jewelery - It's the one way you cant go wrong.
Well, that's if she's into Jewelery. But if she is, just go into a local jewelers, or perhaps argos, and they'll try to sort you out. :)

You cannot go wrong with a bit of make-up.
In Boots right now there is an offer on-spend €30 or 35(not too sure) on No. 7(make up) products and get a free gift worth about €40-50! Great offer! You'll still have some cash left to splash!

    I'm a girl-take my advice!

Or of course scented candles, jewellery(argos-good prices), cosmetics etc.!

Ah now hold on a tick!:p Argos is just as good as any jeweller's but they have a major advantage-they're cheaper! Zero-nine is on a budget and believe me, you won't go very far with €50 in a Jeweller's!

Argos is perfect Zero-Nine! I've always used it and so has my Mammy and loads more of my friends! An ideal place to grab a bargain!:)

Is that a quality issue or is their stuff just tacky? Problem with customer service? I'm interested as to why it's so bad! :)

can i ask how old you are and if youre male/female? you sound young & male. just cause something is cheap doesnt mean its good. personally id just never go near it (or havent since i was 14 or so anyway :o)

its the tacky mass-produced cheapness side of it. for me anyway. if youre going to buy jewellery buy it from a proper jewellers!

dont want to turn this into a debate on whether or not argos is shite :P but my advice personally would be if youre going for jewellery, dont get it in argos!

Ok, I'm not gonna lie-I'm 16-but dont dismiss my viewpoint because Im a kid!!:P I'm a girl too(thanks for the vote of confidence there!:o) I've always found Argos to be good-of course jeweller's are better, but I find Argos is quality and it's perfect if you're on a budget like Zero-Nine!

    Though I respect you view!:)

    How about make a dvd?

I dug all the kiddies photos from babies to now & scanned them in. I picked some music & threw it all into windows video maker & presto a DVD popped out.

You could do it of yourself or siblings or something like that. I havent a bean for any christmas presents this year so the kids are giving little pots of bulbs they dug out of the garden & im giving them all a dvd of the kids. Cheap yet very cheerful.

im not dismissing it, i thought the same when i was your age. i suppose what you want from jewellery just changes as you get older.

how about a photo collage? thats what i did last year, the mother is obsessed with photos so i dug out all the old ones from when me and my brother were kids up untill now and put them together using photoshop and got it printed up really big. if you don't use photoshop you could just as easily buy a large clear glass frame and put the photos together yourself!

as for what il be getting her this year, i havn't a notion!!

My mother wears certain jewellery so I get her something if I know for definite she'll like it.
She's not into makeup or smelly stuffs or spas or anything like that.

I tend to try and get her something she's a general interest in, she loves me-to-you bears, so I usually get her a bear or some of the figurines. I don't always just buy one big present, sometimes it's easier to get a few smaller items you know she'll like and put them together. Or if there's a series of books she's an interest in, I'll pick them up too.
Or sometimes something from her childhood that holds lots of memories like a teddy or certain item.

IF she has any hobbies or specific interests you could get something to go with/compliment that?
