HTC Hero on Meteor and HTC Tattoo on Vodafone.
Any of the others would have to be bought online.

I had the Spica too for a few days on a loaner - pretty slick alright and its just plain android! but browsing and email on it is great :) hopin the liquid performs better with speedier processor and higher res screen :D

+1 for the Samsung Galaxy Spica. Got it because it was cheaper than the HTC Hero and I wanted to stay with O2. Have it a few weeks now and it's very good, the fast processor keeps it zipping along nicely. Battery life seems to be holding up pretty well for a smartphone. Only dark spot is that Samsung are fairly cagey about whether they'll release the updated Android 2.0 for it (currently runs 1.5)

(im being an a**hole here but...)

Isnt Droid the name used for the Motorola range of Android phones. Should the Thread title be "Android OS"?

Edit| Id recommend the Hero on Meteor. for 159 euro on 20/25 bill

I was in two minds between this and the Motorola Milestone. Went with the milestone!! I'd still be interested in how you get on with it. Was put off it running 1.6(and no word on when/if it might get 2.0). Anyways, best of luck with it.

The big benefit of HTC phones is the Sense UI. Turns it into a far superior phone.

    +1 yeah i'll agree with that ^

just go the acer liquid using stock 1.6 with small customisation by acer. Have to say it's no sense UI but it is FAST and smooth. no lag (but hardly expect that!) at all. typing is fast and responsive and the screen is class :)

BUT it seems to be missing the internal dictionary :( means I get no word suggestions when typing only for those I have added myself to the user dictionary. hopefully I can install a dictionary tho to sort this.

Other than that its full marks for the Liquid - cheap too and loaded with specs! :D

    Ram - 256mb
CPU - 1ghz (underclocked to 768 for battery performance but not noticeable at all)
    FAST smooth browsing :)

god damn keyboard dictionary would have it complete for me!

The Milestone is the Motorola Droid, isn't it?
    Where did you get this.
    And how much?
Are any of the Irish networks doing this phone.
    :)

no irish networks doing the droid afaik. "apparently" big price drop in current irish android devices after xmas with a whole slew of new devices to be introduced - you would imagine the droid/milestone would be among them.

you can get it on expansys.co.uk

    pricey tho!

I got my liquid running the htc keyboard! sweet. android ftw!

    +1 Samsung Spica,
Cant fault it,seamless gmail, quick, responsive, reasonable pictures,1 day battery life on med/heavy useage, good display.Coming from many Windooze(numerous custom rom flashes etc) & Nokia devices, this €99 device wipes the floor with them from first boot...it will be Android from here on !!

Anyone know where I can get a non-generic screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy Spica? All of the ones I've found are generic. Don't fancy my luck with a scalpal. Also any pointers to a silicone case for one?

    Cheers.

(BTW, if battery life is not good on the Spica, an essential app is Advanced Task Killer. Kill apps that are eating your battery, even when you're not using them.)

-1 for the Galaxy - it appears it will not be getting updated to 2.0 and beyond...:

That's the Galaxy (which has the slower processor), not the Galaxy Spica. There hasn't been an official announcement yet, and I've heard it going both ways depending on the source
