Getting P45 back after traveling

Before I left for Australia I handed my pages 2 & 3 of my P45 in with my P50 to get my unused tax credits back. Do they send you back the p45 or do they hold on to it and you have to ask for it back. I cant remember getting it back. Also which pages of the p45 do you need to hand in to get JSA? Any help would be great…

AFAIK it's your P60 for the previous tax year you need for JSA
