    i just got a letter to collect my first dole payment on thurs, im 23 years old, do i still receive the 204 euro as im an existing applicant?

    how short sighted is this. cutting my pay means i won't be spending quite as much in the local economy. i'll bencutting back on eating out, drinking in pubs, buying luxury groceries. I will be buying cheaper presents at christmas and buying online. And I am one of thousands no doubt doing the same. So how exactly is that going to help the economy and private business?

    I'm sure it will be cleared up in a bit but unless there is a system that is offering people jobs a la the Job Centres in the UK then this will just be abused.

    Next €4 @ 7.5%, €300

    Under 21s without dependents down to €100, under 21-24s new applicants down to €150, anyone over 24 who is found to be refusing work or not trying to find work down to €150. I hope the last part is policed well as I feel it's a big problem here.

    I may have missed some parts with all the moaning in the background but it seems like petrol is the only thing that's going to effect me so far.

    If it continues like this, it'd be grossly unfair if I escape with just a dearer tank of full.
