My connection is fine 3/2 down/up i play cod4 on uk servers with a ping of 50 but it took me 20 minutes to get into a match of mw2 this afternoon
By myself i've never waited longer than 20seconds.
So it does happen .. there goes the whole idea of the casual gamer playing against other casual gamers, ..."Match makings biggest asset is that it avoids this" .... that's your quote
Sorry your somehow taking something out of what i've said that isn't there, its not a flaw in their system if you play with someone in a party who's far better and puts off the true skill rating. all it could do is split you into seperate games.
Change provider just to play a MW2!!?? what planet are you on !!
I know several people who picked/changed isp's depending on the gaming experience on that isp. MW2 is nothing revolutionary here...
since when do i the consumer have to suffer because some greedy game developer can't get their act together and provide a gaming solution for everyone like i said before
Sorry what? it in all likelyhood cost them more to do it this way than dedicated servers. And it is effectively industry standard to use p2p now. maybe not pc fps, but thats not a big market segment.
... if IW is so convinced about iw-net being superior over dedicated servers why not implement both
Why should they? tiny proportion of people arn't happy, can damn well be sure that % of people probably weren't happy with cod4 either. Its not economically advisable or a remotely good idea to split the online community via 2 connectivity methods.
...everyone is happy then ..you can use iw net and i can log on to those tricky dedi servers
Don't be making silly assumptions about other people.

It is a flaw in their system ..because when they cant find a host and that is happening often they throw you in a lobby no matter what and i only quoted urself

iI honestly never heard/read that people switched providers because they got throtteld during online gaming ... only recently with this mw2 debacle i found that out

It cost them more to make iw/net so they can keep control over it all and make more money using dlc ... Do you realy think that they did it to make a better experience for the PC gamer ?? Who told you that p2p is the standard now ... link please because that's new to me as well

that's rubbish .. explain?? Why not go for 100% happiness .... and how many people do you see as a "tiny proportion"
Don't be making silly assumptions about other people.
Only about you ... someone who's quite happy with the way things are, reading through all your replies... maybe its handy to post a couple of sources with the claims you are making ... now it seems I'm not the only one making silly assumptions

You just sound like your venting because you suffer from connection/isp issues, so i think i'll stop replying.

I have not even played this game yet, my criticism of multiplayer was of the whole genre. Why, when games like COD were developed as single player games with a decent number of levels and a good story, did they have to become almost solely multiplayer games? Could they not invest a bit more time and develop an amazing single player game, they obviously have the technology and the staff to use it, why waste it all on MP.
You are right, i am crap at it, I just cant get the hang of it, I dont see the enjoyment as compared to trying to complete a really hard, challenging mission in single player mode. I found the waiting around for a game to start to be tedious, then to be killed 15 times by some guy on level 70 just annoyed me even more.
I dont think developing a mp game can be as expensive or as challenging as developing a single player game and I think they are just a cop out by the developers. I have no qualms with a multiplayer game coming as part of the package but I dont think they should take the place of the single player game.

They focus on multiplayer because that is a money making concept ...with DLC you have to pay for ..... When you are a fan of the SP experience MW2 is good but way to short to justify the money you pay for it, compared to other good games with proper SP.. ie assassins creed, deus ex, half life ...pong :P

The knife guys have some skill, at least, the dual shotties are a cheap way to get a semi aimed instakill before I get to reply with enough bullets:rolleyes: to kill them.

Frustrating michael bay multiplayer and inherently flawed in a few, now well exploited ways.

Its a pity because there is so much potential there.
