    I can't remember what they are called but it's the guys who can tell the difference between 320kbps and 321kbps, thats a slight exaggeration but you know what I mean, there are professional ears out there.

    Like a reel of film at the cinema, digital music is made up of lots of little shots or bits. So the more bits per second the fuller and more fluid the sound. Not the sort of thing you'd notice while listening on the bus or driving.

    Another way compressed music reduce the size of files is to reduce frequency ranges. Again like a Video, say, instead of have 100 shades of red using 50 shades. For the amount the file is reduced (Sometimes 25% of original size) the quality isn't ridiculously massive.
