did you know there was a model boat association in Ireland ?

The IOM or International One Meter class association has been in existence for few years now and we are growing. For now we have a fleet in Dublin and Cork and we are looking for interest in other parts of the country to set up new fleets.

The IOM is the most sailed RC boat worldwide. And for good reasons :
    * its small size - 1m long- make it easy to pack in any car
    * its box rules allow for various designs but keeping performance similar make for close racing
    * limitation in building material to keep cost down
    * limitation in rigs to 3 to allow sailing in all conditions but limiting costs
    * limitation in electrics to keep cost down
    * the fact that one can either buy a boat, a kit, a plan or even design plans themselves and still race and be competitive in the class.
    * IOM class has an national class association in over 20 countries
    * so it's easy to sail, cheap to buy and low running cost, it's competitive and it's fun to sail.

So where will I find information about it : www.iomireland.org

    Come, try, enjoy
