emissions and open market selling price on the 1.9 are higher.

You saying the VRT on an 05 1.9 is twice that of an 06 1.3?

Yeah. It's 1300-1500 for the 1.3/1.7 and 3400 for the 1.9. I don't get why the 1.9 is double the money. Seems a little crazy.

You do realise they aren't Opel Astra's?

Having a Griffin on the badge means it will be worth a lot less than the equivalent Opel when you come to sell it on?

On a side note. On the CDTi 16v Astra check to see if the swirl valve and inlet manifold were changed. Major problem with this engine that could cost you upwards on €800 if not done. Lots were done under warranty in the UK so you might be lucky

They are all CDTi 16Vs, which one are you talking about ? 1.3/1.7/1.9 ?

And who would the consumer be? Yes, the general public - who are afraid of things which are slightly different.

We've had a few Irish Reg Vauxhalls to sell this year on behalf of a customer and they've made no where near what the equivalent Opel would make.

There's an 8v 1.9. It's the 120 brake model. This one avoids the swirl valve problem afaik but open to correction

Correct. Its only on the 16v. €650 parts plus 6 hours labour to fix apparently ...and mine has started giving the exact error codes for this problem

Not too concerned about the badge. I intend hanging onto the car for 3-5 yrs so it won't be worth much then anyway.
