    sorry for starting another thread but its a point id like to see discussed,

    carrying on from yesterdays announcement about the paycut in the PS can the government legally do this without agreement from the PS workers and still fall within the guidelines of the payment of wages act????

    im just curious on this point, its not a thread for discussing the PS or whether cuts were warranted, im just curious from an employment law point of view??

    I don't know in the Public sector, but in the private sector most if not all contracts have a clause that allows them to do it.

    but why do u say that , a politician isnt covered under the payment of wages act but civil servants are
