Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Parkinson and the club have parted company this evening.

    Who is next?

As long as it's not Kevin Phillips.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

    Cowley Cook or Poyet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Looks like the Gus bus is back on Wearside.

Poyet has agreed to come back to Sunderland and will be meeting the players this afternoon.

    Three year contract.

Mixed feelings on it going back to a club doesn't always work.

And in the end it is Lee Johnson,

I don't think you will have mixed feelings about that

Johnson wouldn't have been my first choice but he'll get my 100 per cent backing.

At least he has a great chance of a winning start today.

But this is Sunderland we are talking about.

    Predictable result yesterday.
One point off Burton and Wigan woeful.

I thought I was dreaming on Saturday with SAFC's 4 0 win at Lincoln!

A very positive attacking display I hope we can keep it gong tomorrow night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Four more covid cases at Sunderland.

So the next three SAFC league games postponed.

Huge game against Hull tonight live on sky.

I wonder which SAFC will turn up?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Hopefully both Aiden McGeady and Aidan O'Brien will be in the starting line up tomorrow.

Lee Johnson has been praising them both since the Port Vale match.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Cracking hat trick from Big Bad Chas on Saturday.

But Sunderland need to make their home form more like their away form starting with the Plymouth game tomorrow night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Sounds like the SAFC takeover is close but I'm not. Not counting any chickens just yet though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Brilliant stuff from McGeady and Wyke yesterday.

Now Sunderland need to go on a barnstorming run.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Great couple of days for Sunderland.

Semi win and now the takeover has been confirmed.

Great couple of days for Sunderland.

Semi win and now the takeover has been confirmed.

"Kyril's commitment, acumen and integrity convinced us to accept his proposal," Donald said.

    His acumen? He's feckin' 23! :P

Some family though, billionaires going back generations and across all branches of the family tree, and related to Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, and I guess most famously Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Hugely important win tonight first time Sunderland have won three league games in a row this season.

Pulled it out of the bag today with the late equaliser.

    Sunderland just about deserved it.

    Two quality goals.

£89k raised now for the EFL trophy final virtual tickets.

    Phenomenal stuff.

    Very professional performance tonight.

The Johnson jurganaut is in fully swing.

nice to see Sunderland on the rise again - a proper club, big respect for.

Great to see them win at Wembley and break that run there.

It is a trophy and keeps the recent good run going.

Hopefully they won't be at Wembley again this season - but if they are at least they have a recent win there now.

Surreal yesterday watching the match at home but great celebrations.

What a superb pass from Aido for the winning goal.

The Accrington game on Wednesday is a more important match.

Scruffy win yesterday but an important one.

Good Irish connection with the goals.

    The two Aidens.

Tough test today but Sunderland showed real character.
    Huge win.
Monday will be an even bigger test at Peterborough.

Great to see them coming from behind at home, maybe the lack of fans is doing some good.

Pity that both Hull and Peterborough picked up late winners, but Sunderland still in an ominous position.

Would you settle for 2nd spot?

I'd certainly be happy with finishing second.

    Another massive game today.

I'd start Chris Maguire or at least give him half an hour in the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Deserved the win in the end.

Gooch Maguire and Stewart made the difference.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

I usually try to be positive but I really can't see SAFC turning the play off tie around tomorrow we need to score at least three goals and not concede.

    Highly unlikely.

    Highly unlikely.

Pretty dire going from having games in hand to win the league, to finishing double digits off second place and then comprehensively beaten in the first leg.

The away goals rule does not count in the play-off semi-final matches. One to keep in mind for Sunderland supporters.

I wouldn't say we were comprehensively beaten we hit the woodwork twice and had other chances in the match.

    Sorry I didnt see it.

I was referring only to the base scoreline by saying comprehensively beaten ie two clear goals.

    Lazy description by me.

35 minutes in and back on level terms, 2-0, both assists by McGeady!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Classic game of two halves Sunderland the better team in first half Lincoln superior in the second.

Yet another huge close season for Sunderland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Looks like George Dobson is off to Charlton.

    No big surprise.

Aido back training with SAFC today so the new contract for him must have been sorted?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

Its confirmed Aido has signed a new contract for SAFC.

Sounds like O'Nein could be leaving the club possibly to Peterborough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭Kingdom Bhoy

O'Nein could be out for the rest of the season he needs a shoulder operation.

My dad is a lifelong Sunderland fan and we are bringing him to SUFC v Millwall on 20th April. We've never been, so just checking if anyone knows if you can normally buy tickets on the day? (Got stung before with a cancelled flight and lost ticket money) Thanks
