    Afternoon All

Just to let everyone know we will be starting our Poker Nights this Thursday 25th from 8.00pm at the GreyStones Inn. Also a big weekend coming up for sport with Wales v France on Friday ko 8.00pm and England v Ireland on Saturday ko 4.00pm (usual free half time nibbles for Irish game). Sunday is Carling cup final day Man Utd v Aston Villa.

    Look forward to seeing you.

    Thanks
    DM

cool, good to know you're showing Six Nations matches. We're hosting a gymnastics competition in Shoreline on march 20th so i'm sure there'll be some dads on the look out for a pub nearby to the centre to watch the Ireland V Scotland match.

We hosted one on Sat & Sun last weekend, so hopefully you might have got some business from that :)

Have to agree with jobless, dont knock it on the head just yet...
I was in the Chinese take away the other night and noticed a sign about poker up in the wicklow arms... Very similar to whats been posted by yourselves..
Still think €35 is a bit steep...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 46 GreyStonesInn

Yes the game went ahead last Thursday and there was about a dozen players with another dozen or so who came down to check it out for the following weeks.

You should start up a karaoke night with a free drink for anybody who will get up and sing. I reckon there would be enough people for that, that you wouldn't get the same person up singing twice. It would surely bring a crowd in. And it'd be a laugh :)

A pub I know used to do it, and they were pretty much out the door whenever they did.

    One drink one song?

You would have the same people up on the mic all the time.

Never been to a Karaoke Bar where it was free drink, actually the opposite.

How did poker go last night...?
Was twitching to go down or not..
Still think €35 is too much...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭jobless

35 is cheap for normal pub games...i dont think ull get any cheaper around

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 452 ✭✭Welsh Wizard

Suppose your right.. Don't really play for the money though... Although it's a nice bonus when you win...

Well I'm sure to be down there soon...

It was great craic I have to say. Few pints, game of poker, and the organisers were very sound indeed.
I think it was 15 or 16 people that entered in the end.
Will be going back next week

good to see it is getting some numbers already...
what time does it usually end up at?
