Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mmm Urban Outfitters' sale :D Picked up a print cropped tee today for €12, originally €37, and a big shawl-rug-poncho thing for €23, originally €43. This is why I really try to never purchase their items at full price, they go down in the sale so much!

No pics online for the Latest Purchases thread though.

I really want one of those rug poncho thingies, they look so cosy! I'm afraid I'd look like a sack though, it seems like something to go with skinny jeans (and skinny legs!)

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,722 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

Give it a shot!! The minute I took it out of the bag my mam (size 14) snatched it out of my hands! She says she's going to try it with a plain black top and black wide leg trousers, and maybe put a belt around the waist. I think a good trick would be to drape the front quite high up over your shoulders, exposing your waist, so to avoid the "sack" look.

And if you don't like it, I can guarantee you'll wear it at home snuggling on the couch. It's like a fashion Snuggie or something :p I got a kind of aztec print on in purples and greys, but they also had leopard.

Anyone know where I can get a plain black top with sheer sleeves? Like this but with tighter sleeves. All I can find is stuff with lace or patterns everywhere :(

    LEOPARD?!

I've got to get to a UO!

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,722 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

Oh yes! Googling them is so hard, but apparently they're called "blanket scarves".

This is the leopard one they have

    deena-and-ozzy-leopard-blanket-scarf-mobile-wallpaper.jpg

See what I mean there if you took the front long parts and draped it right up over your shoulders.

Looking for blue heels to go with a dress I have, these are actually the PERFECT ones but I can only imagine how high the price tag is: :P

Hahahaha well technically they're the Martinez Valero exact versions :P Some day....:D

Meant they were the perfect type of heels anyway for what I'm looking for...a bit optimistic to be looking at them!

I was thinking, wow she really is expecting to pay a fortune for them. They had those type ones in BT, I remember bringing my friend up to his little store area to look at the shoes. She took out her phone to take a picture of those shoes and a security guard asked her to leave and delete the picture!

    Wow are you serious? Jesus!

Thinking something along the lines of these, SLIGHTLY better price range :p

Also, does anyone have any problems trying to enter the NUS number for UGG item's on Asos? Whenever I try, all I get is this message:

    The following errors have occurred:

Sorry, discount code *************** is not valid for the delivery method selected. Please select correct delivery method and try again

Please note: this item does not qualify for the applied discount

Ams you might like to check out fabric-dreams.co.uk

    Also:fabrics-by-yard.com

    and: Online-fabrics.co.uk

It seems the shipping to Ireland is 13.50 regardless of weigh twith fabric dreams and about a tenner per shipment with online fabrics, although I need to double check that, sounds too good to be true!

So many Irregular Choice shoes pop up in the Latest Purchases thread and I have to admit, I've never seen anyone out and about actually wearing a pair.

Do you save your IC shoes for special occasions?

I just got mine. Totally in love with them. I think with the right outfit I would wear them during the day. Might be nicer for a special occasion, like yourself I've never seen anyone wearing them around.

I wear my button IC shoes to work sometimes (mostly the days I fall over :o)they have no grip whatsoever but the soles are waaay too pretty to scratch for grip. Who sees the soles of your shoes you ask? You never know someone walking behind you up the stares. who cares??!! I know they are pretty!!
I have IC boots for special ossacions (*ahem translates to not at all comphy so I can only do a couple of hours at a time. That's a special occasion right?):D

I need a new pair of heels! I have a super high pair black pair, but they're just too high for every weekend, and my Vivienne Westwood Melissa pair are too special! My go to black mid heels are gone a bit haggard, and I don't want to be wearing my black shoe boots into the Spring. So now I'm thinking is the time to get some ICs! I love attempting to justify new things.

I don't have any myself (yet!) but my best friend has at least 11 pairs and she wears a pair almost every weekend, if she's going for dinner, pub, club, wherever, always Irregular Choice! :) She has tonnes of really cool and weird pairs, the more extraordinary the more she loves them, she brought some to the cobbler recently and he said "What are they" and calls her Cinderella now :)

I bought a pair of IC's for my 18th, four years ago now :'( Similar to these. I think I wore them twice! I've gone off the kitten heel and they have baby blue bordering and just don't go with my style anymore. I can't bear to part with them. I'll probably sell them on eBay this summer. :(

I'm having the same problem Tomissex they are so unusual it's difficult to find a dress to compliment them. I'm thinking if I can match one colour that's pretty exact it would work. :)

Same! I could just wear an LBD but I don't want to! It just seems so bland compared to the shoes!

I got a quote from minervacraftsandfabricsuk on ebay yest (they have a really good selection) and it would be 8.99 to ship about four metres which I may do. The only thing about it is that its so hard to judge what the fabric will be like from online!
