The latest sticking plaster to be applied to this political scar that is NI, is already in intensive care. [i'm referring here to the Good Friday Agreement Mark II, adjusted to take into account the need on the part of the DUP to blackmail their own voters]. The reason why Marty will probably be first minister [in name only, as no dup figure would lower himself to act as deputy to a catholic first minister] is the arrival on the scene of the TUV. The details will have to be changed to overturn the shinners proviso in St andrew's for no suspension. Robinson, is holed below the waterline and has lost credibility among unionist voters in record time. He can't afford to move without the say-so of the knuckle draggers in his party, so it's all over for st. Andrew's agreement. Back to GFA and indirect rule.

the governement of the RoI would not share power with sinn fein so its hardly just a 'unionist' thing. As for the DUP they are merely reaping what they sowed, they ran on a no agreement ticket and when elected did a complete u-turn and went into power with sinn fein, leaving thier voters far from happy

i agree that the RoI wouldn't share with SF. The cunning plan of Paisley to make their voters go on trust in '07 and then betray them, isn't looking that clever now, but it's robbo who is reaping the whirlwind now. If brains were a disease.....

Whether you like it or not, SF is the largest nationalist party in the north and represents those said people. If Stormont fails, it is 100% the blame of the DUP because they have not lived up to their part of the agreement and pushed forward with devolution of policing and justice.

You can't have your cake and eat it. You either want to push forward with the peace process, or you don't.

i can't dispute any of that, dlofnep. The parades issue wasn't a dealbreaker at St andrew's talks, so robbo is in default by making it so now. But is there anyone at UTV or BBC belfast who would point that out? of course not. they've all bought hook line and sinker into the dup case.
If the shinners had reneged on the SAG, in this blatant way, you'd be hearing about it from morning to night. By the way, SF in the south can't muster the votes there, but i didn't say i wouldn't support them here in the north..
