Is this still going ahead ? is it acceptable when it will borrowed money for a generation if one considers it to be a marginal project?

East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson has welcomed the announcement of a preferred route for the A8 dual carriageway.

    Mr Wilson said:

......The A8 is an important part of the infrastructure in East Antrim, and I am pleased that when I was Environment Minister I was able to meet the Irish Transport Minister and discuss how important it was that the £400 million that had been promised by the Irish Government for important transport corridors in Northern Ireland was delivered as this is a necessary part of the financial package. I will continue to work with Roads Service to ensure that this project is delivered on time and within budget with minimum disruption”
