I wasnt sure where to post this, so mods move if necessary.

I have Irish£80 in 20 pound notes, and another 30 in five pound notes.

Would these fetch much on the internet?

How much do you reckon I'd get in the bank for it?

    Thanks.

All depends on condition, rarity etc. and the Central Bank on Dame Street will still give you the current exchange rate for them. Check out eBay? :)

Perfect condition every note, been ina steel tin the last 8-10 years.

    Current exchange is? :P

I was thinking of putting them on Ebay, but thought I'd ask for a general estimate here first :)

I'm not sure but I think it is about €1.20 to the old Irish pound - eBay probably a better bet if they are in good condition. :)

Reccomend a price on either A)putting each note up seperate or B)putting them as a bundle?

Exchange rate is £1=€1.27 but you should get more that this
what year were they made, this would give me a good idea of what they are worth

    The 20's are 1X97, 1X98 and 2X99
    The 5's are 1X98 and 5X99

    Thanks :)

your best bet is to sell them seperatly on ebay
the 20s should go for around €35-€40 each and the 5s fetch between 12 and 18 each

I have a collection of the old lady lavery banknotes bought over a few years from ebay so i'm a fairly active banknote collector.

You'll get the best price if you have a good clear large scan of each note, front and back. Tears and pinholes detract from the value so hold the notes up to the light and if there's any pinholes make sure to include that in the description.

Creases are okay. "Crispness" is important, some misguided people press notes to make them look newer but it also makes them "flatter", less shiney. So if they're in good shape emphasise that.

Yeah, its outside my area for price but we can tell you if the scans are good. Dont press them but make sure they're flat so there's not a lot of shadows.

I've seen big differences in price on ebay just solely because of bad descriptions/pictures.

... How much do you reckon I'd get in the (Central) bank for it? ...

    139·67

    To convert pounds to euro:
Divide the Irish pounds amount by 0·787564
and round the result to 2 decimal places.

    To convert euro to pounds:
Multiply the euro amount by 0·787564
and round the result to 2 decimal places.

As the notes mentioned are not rare their condition is not going to make a huge difference to their value
for the 20 pound note the face value is €25.40 which is their lowest value
the highest price that one would sell for in mint unc condition would be ~€50
fine condition £20 pounds will sell for €30 and VF-Ef notes will sell for €35-€40
Its fair to say that even though we have not seen the op's notes they will not be strictly mint condition, he has said that they were kept in a tin so they are probably between Vf and Ef condition
