i myself thik it is the way to go, but it does require the construction of the inner relief road.
if the relief road is not built, it is a waste of time.

As one who saw this in person there are way to many flaws with this ..........there is no right turn at the bottom of woodstock street
there is a complete mad turn at nelson street, traffic which is to go to portlaoise can only go this road!!!!!
A loss of loading bays
making the square a padestrian only
list goes on
so before it goes through please everyone have a god look at it

Traffic Mgmt Plan for Athy Passes
There is warm welcome for the approval of a traffic management plan for Athy.

Its one of a number of measures designed to reduce often chronic traffic congestion throughout the area.

The document had already been approved by Athy Town Council and the Local Area Committee.

It has now recieved a stamp of approval from Kildare County Council.
