Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering do language labs count towards anything?? like a final grade or do you fail if you miss too many? Mostly thinking Irish..

For French they count for 10% of your oral exam I think. Dunno about Irish though

Again, I can only speak for the Spanish dept, but I know people who have been almost at a passing grade from exams/C.A and their poor or non-attendance at language labs have failed them. i.e. they were at 39.5% from everything else and even though the labs only make up a small amount, if your mark is low and they're looking at everything to bring you up that .5 and find out you went to 2 labs, they will leave it at 39.5%.

And they're hugely beneficial to your oral/aural components. That's the main reason they're there. Just go.

Ahhh, good old Spanish/French labs...I do believe they contributed greatly to my changing course/flunking :pac:

    The three times you went.

Kazuma's non-attendance at language labs probably contributed to his failing, but general non-attendance at everything probably contributed more.

I found Irish language labs were like putting my brain in the microwave.

German is worth 70% and an automatic fail if you finish below this. Language labs are as interesting as pulling your own teeth out. They should replace them with an extra conversation class.
