I am writing SQL code and I have no way of checking whether it will compile in Oracle or not as I am not in College and will not be until monday which is too late. Is there anywhere where I can check the syntax of my SQL?

You can download a free version of Oracle database from the Oracle website.

Along with downloading Oracle Database (I suggest Oracle Express, much more straight forward to install if you are not familiar with Oracle) you can also download SQL Developer which will give you a GUI for entering SQL.
