    The other surviving SPARTAN was Tom and at the time of Reach he is with Lucy training the third class of SPARTAN III's. I doubt you'll stop the glassing, thats breaking canon too much. A lot of people are saying you play as a SPARTAN III because a couple sites put up a press release saying you "step in the boots of a SPARTAN III" and also a Bungie employee went on the official forum and was asked if Lone Wolf/Noble 6 was a III and he said "I can't tell you what he is or they'll hurt me". Some felt that since he didn't deny it, it was true. Also notice he says "HE". But SPARTAN III number designations start with a letter, A for Alpha company, B for Beta etc. So therefore I think this Noble group must be a second class of SPARTAN II's we don't know about. Except for Jorge-052, who's low number suggests he was part of the Chief's class.

    The only one without a weird number is Jorge, Spartan 052.

    Indicating he was a Class 2. What IF..

    As with Kurt, ONI 'stole' Jorge from the rest of the Class 1s? And used him to train the Class 2s that ONI had taken in for themselves to train. It would make sense till you come to a point where Carter is now the commanding officer. But then, it happens right? I mean, Kurt was elevated to being the highest ranking officer as well.

    Although its not uncommon for a particular Spartan to have the role of Commander. For example, John, when splitting the team for the Reach Op gave tactical command of Red Team to Fred.The chain of command applies and regardless of rank, Fred is the Commander and Kelly is the second in command. Both are treated with respect.Its likely that Jorge is of a similar rank to these guys and ONI appointed Carter to take command of this particular op.

    Also it seems that Noble team are working for ONI because someone spotted the ONI symbols on top of the Hawks:

    Also notice how Lone Wolf was traveling along the road at the start being escorted by two of these Hawks. Clearly shows his importance to ONI.
