Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should this be just an amalgamation with the other Rafa thread?

Bring in Paul Sturrock, he's free. Or Roddy Collins

    A Boggles/Headshot/Ntlbell union

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Guus Hiddink would be a superb addition for you lot, but with Abramovich being good mates with him and paying his wages on behalf of Russia, I can't see him going there.

The only other 'Big Name' that would take the job at present would be Klinsmann, but his CV is hardly impressive. Mourinho won't leave Inter until the end of the season but he could be a decent target in the summer.

Mourniho, Mancini, Rijkaard or Van Basten would be decent options.

If I was a Liverpool fan though, I'd have to say Mourinho.

    King Kenny or Guus

If Rafa were to be sacked tomorrow then Kenny til the summer but went with Guus cos I think Kenny is better suited to working with they youngins at the Academy

Hate to be a spoil sport, but that picture DOES make sense.

Yes would go for Rikjaard myself. Jose brings too much baggage to the job. Would have loved to see Keegan offered the job in his prime as he put out some wonderful lads. And to other posters (you know who Im talking about) in the words of Paul Gogarty I would like to apologise for my unparliamentary language

Keep Rafa - he is doing a great job or else maybe bring back Houllier, Souness or Evans - all quality managers who should never have been let go.

Leave Rafa there as he's doing a great job.:p

Hiddink and Mourinho are realistically unavailable.

Anyone who claims the likes of Klinsmann, Mancini, Rijkaard or Van Basten are superior managers to Benitez are, well...not very bright. :)

Mourinho earns about twice as much as Rafa every year, maybe more.

peope suggesting him are only highlighting how clueless they are about the situation our club is in at the minute.

What was Rafa's new 5 year contract worth again btw? I dont know the exact salaries but in the PL I presume they would be something like this in order of size:

    1. Ancelloti
    2. Ferguson
    3. Benitez
    4. Wenger

    Anyone differ?

(btw, someone remind me what his record is in his last 20 CL games?)

Mourinho was touted by Bookies as man to succeed Rafa after champions league exit. Would not be by my choice as he would stay two three seasons max. Suffers from Itchy feet and pool fans still remember his antics in Carling cup when he told them to shush.
That said he brings a bit of colour to the Premiership. Gift grub hasn't been the same since he left

Hence why I stated that he wouldn't leave until the summer, in the summer though, if an English club came in for him, he'd leave Inter like a rocket, according to many, many reports, he is unhappy in Italy.

I suppose though, if Liverpool aren't in Europe I can't see him going anywhere near the job, it all depends on circumstances.

David Moyes, Harry Redknapp & Mark Hughes were higher than him until this season.

not sure what his current contract is worth, but the salary was never an issue for him & was agree months and months before he signed it.

hopefully he is on a par with Moyes/Reknapp & Hughes now though.

I'll say this much: if Jose Mourinho is willing to sign a 5 year contract to be Liverpool manager at the end of the current season, I would be satisfied to thank Benitez for the wonderful work he has done and let him ride off into the sunset (Madrid). Mourinho is one of a handful of managers operating in World Football that I would consider an upgrade over Benitez's capabilities.

Just think its time for new approach. I really dont see us progressing any further under Rafa. Unless he takes a more adventurous approach in terms of his team selection and players we buy we are going to fall further and further behind.

What difference would that make? He'd still be off in 2 years if not sooner. I couldn't see him handling the expectations at Liverpool.

Maybe she was the one driving the van!! He chose the sewing machine over her and she drove off in a fury, thus crashing the van into the river.

He's posing for the picture and is happy because he feels like he's made the right choice.

Plus he'd rather marry Steve anyway!!
