Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi guys,

Heard about a new studio that has opened in Kimmage from a friend over the weekend, www.brickwallstudio.net, I thought I would pass the word on as it might be of interest to some of you guys and they seem reasonably priced.

I'm considering taking their lighting course as I have been playing around with my 450D since last Christmas and can't seem to really make a breakthrough with it at all, maybe 1 good shot in every 50 and really good ones are few and far between!

Don't worry, wasn't it a quote attributed to Cartier Bresson that the first 10,000 are the hardest  That was in film terms. I'm sure in digital terms the first 100,000 are the hardest. We all have a little distance to go methinks.

I'll make note of the studio.

Appreciate the encouragement, can be disheartening to get home and see shots you thought looked good in live view are mediocre.

Any other good studios or courses out there that could be recommended?

I have found that nearly all Studio shots are disappointing until you do some work in Post Production.

The things you need to get right in the Studio is the lighting and pose. As long as things are sharp where they are supposed to be then you can extract the images later.

This sounds like a reasonably priced commercial studio. As I do non-commercial work I do not have to pay for Studio time.
