Bah, my rumble will have more credibility than Vinnie Mac's! John Cena cashed in his title shot at No Way Out a few years ago FFS! :p

This Prime fight looks like fanboy madness. Loki can do all sorts of magic and shiz, Prime is kinda limited to transforming (which is cool) but, Loki can transform more... and Prime has a gun... but Loki has dark magic... apparently he was more powerful than Dr. Strange, or so the Wiki says... so, yeah, pretty bad ass... plus he managed to survive despite having his head chopped off.

I can see Prime winning, but only because we all played with the toys... and Loki is a jerk.

Ok... but prime is super charged by magical spiritual energy running through him. He's much more than just a robot. He is effectively the living avatar of a god.

In fact, Prime has defeated and killed evil gods in Transformers fiction manies the time.

Also, when it comes to surviving death, I bet Prime's got Loki beat there too.

Interesting, how many of our combatants have died (not appeared to die in an explosion or something, but actually died well n' proper), only to come back somehow?

My heart says Connor, my head says Red Skull.

My heart all the way, :pac:

I only know Prime from his cartoon days, so I checked out the Wiki... still nothing in it that'd suggest he could take Loki.

I guess this battle will be to me what Superman vs GL is to Pter :p

Go look at Ash Williams vs. most anyone in thyese tournaments. I have yet to swing the vote in his favor.

Chainsaw hand vs adamantium doesn't bode well, for example. But in a "I've no super powers" battle... hmmm... I may subscribe to your pamphlet.

Just wait. Ash will conquer all soon enough.

Ah, he killed Bateman. Not may can say that.
Except Bret Easton Ellis and Mila Kunis oddly enough

    At first I though Pred would walk this, but thinking about it Angel has thwarted the apocalypse a few times. Hard one to call. Anyway the winner will join the following in the QF;

    • Green Lantern
    • Thor
    • Optimus Prime
    • Yoda
    • Red Skull
    • Venom
    • Ultron

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,746 ✭✭✭✭FewFew

It's going to get very tight in the QFs, very tight indeed.

Thor VS GL is a tough one. I'm pretty sure I'm going to abstain, because Thor VS GL is just like Superman VS GL ... and I think I'm losing faith in the Green Lantern.

I think Thor wins - he's the god of thunder and lightning afterall - then there's the hammer mjolnir.

i have a feeling this will end up like robot wars.

I've already layed out the semi, it's

    Thor -v- Venom

    Optimus Prime -v- Ulron/Angel

Think that was Megatron... I remember someone suggesting that Meg's weapon of choice could melt adamantium, but then his lack of accuracy and Ultron's pace won the day.

Everyone knows Prime will triumph in the end.

Thor calls on thunder, splits Optimus Prime in half, over. ;):D

I meant against Ultron. Also why exactly would Thor want to supercharge Prime by giving him free energy?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Okay, Thor ****s Mjolnir at Optimus Prime, leaving a hug gaping hole where his source of power used to be. :D

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 47,826 Mod ✭✭✭✭cyberwolf77

So we should overlook the fact that Prime is one of the top marksmen among the Autobots and could probably shoot the hammer out of the air before aiming athe much larger, and now unarmed target which threw it. Good idea.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Meh, it's a tactic that usually works against the frost giants, so I'm confident Prime will fall the same way that they have. :p

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 47,826 Mod ✭✭✭✭cyberwolf77

Right because frost giants are also millennia-old soldiers who can change into trucks and carry laser rifles.

He splits him in half with sound?
Soundwave tried that a few times. Never worked.

    Think he meant lightning.

Thor has other tricks up his sleeve than lightning strikes.

EDIT: Im aware he doesnt have sleeves

So he hides them under his winged hat?

    *sigh*

Thor just rips Prime apart with his godly strength.

"Oh but Prime will just stamp on him, squish!"

No... this argument was destroyed in Prime vs Sentinel where Prime's strength allowed him to survive. Thor is a frickin' god, the strongest of the Asgard, able to go toe-to-toe with Hulk... so I argue that squishy is a no go.

What else... Prime is millenia old... so he's rust proof and was buried on Earth for most of that anyhows.

Excellent marksman, yeah, great, he still doesn't pack enough heat to stop Thor in his tracks... once it gets anyway close it's over... plus, hey, it doesn't even need to get close, Thor being his mother's son can just create a massive fault line underneath Prime and watch as the living earth swallows him whole and tectonic plates grind the children's toy into oblivion.

I think my tolerance of the Transformers-fan-boi-ism is on the wane.

Why are we arguing Thor vs Prime by the way? I though Ultron still had a few super sonic punches left in his adamantium hide.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe that's Ultron in the same pic with Thor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

Thor cant stand toe to toe with Hulk. He can throw a few punches, yeah, but hulk can beat him to a bloody pulp. Joke that Hulk didnt get through

I just find it ironic that you keep complaining about fanboyism. Look at the thread you're posting in! :P

I think Thor would whoop Prime

TBH there are only two competitors here...people are gonna prefer one or the other. Added to that, Prime has done alot of nifty sh!t.

Ah yeah, I know it's fan boy city, but if it was a popularity contest we could just stick up a poll and badabing.
I've got far too many Wolverine comics for my own good, but I know he wouldn't be able to go toe-to-toe with the final bad boys, and as for Thor... ugh, he bugs me no end but he's been written as a pretty damn powerful character.

Ah yes, I know Thor wouldn't beat the Hulk in a scrap, but out of the Marvel crew he's one of the few that'll give as good as he gets for awhile... until ye olde "the angrier he gets the stronger he gets" comes into play.
