Hi Guys, A friend of mine who recently lost his job has an interview with Emerald Direct this week. He lives in Dublin but really wants to move to Galway so he's thrilled to have an interview. Only thing is, the website is very vague and I get a weird feeling about it. I was just wondering if anybody has heard of this…

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine who recently lost his job has an interview with Emerald Direct this week. He lives in Dublin but really wants to move to Galway so he's thrilled to have an interview.

Only thing is, the website is very vague and I get a weird feeling about it. I was just wondering if anybody has heard of this crowd or does anybody knwo anything at all about them?

I hope I'm wrong as I really want him to move here but something feels wrong to me!

Hmm...thanks although only one person replied to that girl and assumed it's a call centre.

Let's just say that they're the only crowd in town who've been advertising lots and lots of jobs consistently for the last twelve months.

And it's been five hours since you posted and no one's come back with "yeah, my mate works there and it's cool" - and Galway City is a pretty busy forum.

I'm in the same story,went to the first interview,got called back to a second one on monday but very wearyabout this company. There was only 2 people in the office,the manager and receptionist. They claim to have so many offices in UK,Italy and a new 1 opening in Madrid,but they have a terible website to be any way internationally known. I wonder is there any way investigating them better or does anyone have an experience,good or bad with them?

They are door to door sales, I'm not sure if they have made that clear to you. Be ready for that on Monday in this snowy weather somewhere way far from Galway (they'll take you, so you can't come back any time you want). If you ask me, absolute crap. Heard it from a friend who had a horrible experience.
Don't forget to share your experience if you go on Monday.

Check for similar jobs in Waterford and Dublin and you'll see the exact same description but with a different company name. International offices my hole.

what you do for Emerald Direct Ltd is door-to-door sales selling Victoria Jackson Make-up. And i know this because i went to work for this company for one day and having aroused my suspicions about a pyramid scheme of some sort, i googled Victoria Jackson when i got home. There is too much to explain and im too tired to write, so im jst going to post all info that i found on these companies.

Btw, the main company is PerDm, which opens loads of offices with different names around the uk and ireland.

Basically its a Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) scam, so avoid at all costs!
