Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just have a question particularly relating to this year. As we know its freezing most of the time these days and especially at night. I have a small selections of ales, larger and stout, and i know that storage temperature differs but in general,is it ok to be storing beers in the shed at this time of year, and the rest of the year for that matter?

    Thanks

Should be fine. It's not likely to get to freezing or below, even in a shed. Too warm, however, is a problem. I wouldn't leave beer in my shed over the summer.

Haha,i was hoping it'd be you.

And just as a matter of interest, where would you store your's during the warmer months?

In the spare room. The attic and shed, both great in winter, are heat traps in summer. But I try not to keep lots of beer in the house when it's warm, and anything I'm aging goes in the beer fridge.

I find it hard to understand how -4 or even -8 as its been reported we'll get tonight won't effect cans of beer. what temperature would it have to been to make a difference then?

Cans are sterile, sealed and filled with mostly water. What do you think is going to happen?

And how will that affect the taste of the beer?

You'll taste it in your nose? Does the pressure in the can reduce the freezing point of the beer? If so, could you possibly get a supercooling / flash freezing effect from cans of beer?

It also means that the alcohol will remain liquid, so if you froze a can of beer and then drank the liquidy bit it should have a very high alcohol level.

Maybe this should go to the physics forum?
